Have a gander at these, the waterproof casing is also shock proof which is a must on the road. Adata do a newer, better version which is also on that website.

Guess I wasn’t fast enough (being abroad can do that to you :-)).

If you can, always go with USB 3.0. Speed is everything. If you need less than 256GB of space (as many do), I would personally invest in getting a USB 3.0 external 2.5″ case and a 256GB SSD. Since there are no rotating parts, they odds of it getting damaged while playing are practically zero. Which in a public environment you might find yourself in is a big plus for me. And you don’t need a shockproof case (although it DOES help with stuff falling off the DJ stand).

Other than that, there are only two hard disk manufacturers left in the world I think, so either way you get good stuff. The difference between brands is often design, electronics (as in interface) and build quality.

    Good luck with the Adata.

I’ve been using the usb 2 version for years, the case has saved my collection more than once. Even if it only lives in your laptop bag then it’s still that bit more rugged.

I got the ADATA Drive which is USB 3.0

    I like it so far.

Being a Mobile DJ, I’m sure it wont hurt to have the shock and water protection. Stuff is always getting banged around.

Thanks for all of your help!
