    Hi Tony.

The process should be automatic. So first a few questions: What do you mean by “I set cue points on my songs in iTunes on my Numark N4 using VirtualDJ LE”? Virtual and iTunes are completely different programs so what you’re saying doesn’t quite make sense.

Goto VDJ8 settings>options, type in “cue points” and there should be a setting “getCuesFromTags”

^ Hilary, that’s for pulling Serato cue points. Virtual 7 cue points are all stored in the database file, not in tags on the mp3 file.

I don’t think you can set cue points in iTunes quite frankly.

Dear members, thank you all for your comments and advice. Todd, I didn’t express myself very well. I meant to say that my tunes are arranged in a library in iTunes, and I select that library in VDJ. I hope that makes sense. Hilary, I tried what you suggested. I selected: get cues from tags > always. However, that didn’t seem to work. When I use my previous VDJ LE, the cue points are there, but when I use VDJ 8 they aren’t there. Todd, would you have any suggestions? Thanks again. Tony

As I said, it should have caught it. It may have been a wonky install. Try this:

    – do a complete uninstall of 8 from your system
    – double check that everything is how you like it in 7
    – back up your version 7 database file (don’t want to lose that if everything goes off the rails)
    – do a full clean install of version 8

If that doesn’t catch it then there may be something wonky in your 7 database and I’d suggest opening a support ticket with Atomix and have a tech look into it (they have ways they can force a database scan).

Let us know how it goes.

I would like to modify that order slightly – if you haven’t started this already, do the full backup of your 7 database BEFORE you uninstall 8, just to be completely safe. It is probably unnecessary, but is still not a bad idea.

Thank you so much Todd and deathy. I’m going to try what you say, and will get back to you. Thanks again.
