Depending on the controller, if it’s DVS-enabled you can use that, otherwise you may need a (serato)supported sound card. You will also need the DVS add-on for Serato.

In play it’s transparent, the software will let you switch per deck if you want deck, dvs or vinyl thru I think (haven’t done much DVS on Serato, so rusty here). Effectively you should be able to use all of it like an integrated system.

Honestly I can do all the scratch stuff and fliptop and turntable tricks on the controller as well. Just needs some practice and costs way less than 100+ bucks a months for DVS upkeep.

Something I figured out was that if you have a USB-enabled turntable like one of the direct drive Stanton’s you can just plug it into your computer and make that your timecode disc. It’s really easy in Virtual DJ. You can even use instant doubles to mix with one turntable. I would imagine that would work in conjunction with your controller.

Sure it will. Do not get me wrong I like the feel of vinyl and operating it is somehow cool.
The only thing bothering my is the steep upkeep costs. Do not get me wrong I can afford them easily with the money from gigs, but I always think “that would be some pretty neat party cash that I just spent on needles and control vinyl…”
