You need to upgrade your Rekordbox to Rekordbox DJ and the DVS expansion pack. You also need to get the DVS Vinyl. The 900 Nexus is also certified for Serato and Traktor, which means that you also have the choice to use them and you need to get the respective software of course. No other external sound card needed for this mixer. For Serato you get all you need with the Club kit. For traktor I’m not sure, but someone here will know the answer to that. You can also use your CDJ’s in HID or DVS mode if you wanna use them with software once you get into that.

OK great so just software 🙂 It will be Rekordbox DVS rather than Serato.
As for the laptop, is there a preferred preference over a PC or Mac?
I’m really not a fan of Apple products so will a PC laptop be ok and do the job ok?

Opening the Mac vs. PC debate will cause you nothing but headaches. lol

I have both, and know that the reality is that both work just fine. If PC is your choice, you just need to know your way around the machine a little better to get it optimized for the job.

Ok thanks and got myself a Macbook Pro now.
I’ve gone to set it all up and now realised that despite spending a good chunk of change on it, it doesn’t come with an ethernet port!
I assume an adaptor will work but do I need a ‘Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter’ or a ‘USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter’?

Or… do i just connect the Mac to mixer via USB only and not ethernet? Help!

What adapter you need depends on the ports on your MacBook. If it has Thunderbolt port then that adapter, otherwise the USB-C. USB-C can only be found on a hand full of very recent MacBooks. It WILL become the connection of the future for Apple as well or so it seems.
