You should be able to do it. However most likely your setup is not set up correctly.
There is a setup guide for the RP-8000 in the long manual you can download from the reloop website. I would suggest you get that and follow the steps on how to setup to the letter. It is very important that the amplification, tone arm pressure etc. is all setup correctly for DVS to work flawlessly.
Other things that could go wrong:
Your needle is already deteriorated and needs replacing.
Your tone arm got a hit and there is something wrong.
Too much or too low tone arm pressure
Audio settings in the software not setup correctly
DVS is a fine tuned machine and has a lot of upkeep costs associated with it. Hence why I do not use it anymore, I have my setup for “fun play” at home, but on stage I use my controller exclusively now, since I can do the same scratch moves anyways.
