MemberI know what your saying. I literally only bought my mixtrack pro 2 last weekend :/ when I saw they had released a 4 deck version this afternoon I was a bit gutted, however I’m only planning on sticking with the mixtrack pro 2 until I feel my skills have developed and I can afford something fully loaded so to speak, so I’m over it now lol.
It always the same, look at apple. £500 + for an iphone/ipad, 6 months later you’ve got the old model. Its impossible to keep up with everything these days.

ParticipantThink about it though, they did the logical thing. If you look at whats needed for them to make the generation II of all the stuff they haven’t,it’s a bit obvious why they chose to do this first,it’s a cheaper thing to do.To do a NS6 II and an N4 II they’d need to go through the whole process of redesigning it and re-arangeing functions and buttons and with this they don’t have to do that, they slap two more channels on it and add two more load buttons. If they were to do a Mixdeck II they’d have to first put out a new CD Player as the current one is basically two of they’re CD Players bolted onto a mixer.

I agree but they should at least wait a while before bringing similar products out as in my first comment coming out with the mixtrack pro II and then a quad II isn’t right it makes the costumer feel ripped off.

ParticipantAgain, think about it,there’s already a campaign out for the pro II it’s getting a lot of publicity lot of reviews and a lot of buys.In a mind of a business man he doesn’t think”Oh there’s gonna be ego’s bruised because they bought the pro II and not the quad”,he’s thinking”Hmm,we’ve already got all this advertising and publicity, lets leach off it a bit more and exploit it to the fullest.”.

Seriously there is no way this is from a mind of a business man or marketing, this is just bad publicity check the link, as I was saying Numark needs to slow down the might as well call this the dj2go II

I agree, I’m just gonna wait to get the NS6 II.

MemberIt’s a marketing move to try and keep the low end market on lock down. Behringer has been promising their CMD line for some time and it’s due very soon if presales are accurate. But sadly even as a Numark fan the stuff they’re releasing to combat that is just not worth the time. They could take the technology of the four deck Mixtrack (RGB leds, full four deck control), add in some essential features (VU meters, gain control, more outputs and a shift button) and come out with a four deck Mixtrack that would actually be a step up from the original Mixtrack Pro. As after all, what is the point of making a successor if it doesn’t actually do anything to improve on the original?
But that is just my opinion.

I agree, a lot of these, so called djs(free jays) are using the equipment and are calling themselves djs when it takes more than that. Plus when they take this/their equipment to a gig they don’t know how to hook it up right thus making it hard for the dj playing after. I can’t recall how many djs out there don’t know how to hook something up and I have to fix their problems or mistakes and not get paid for it. Plus numark and several of these other companies should be focusing on supporting operating systems and drivers instead of making new controllers. I’ll like to see new updates, both firmware and software and support for drivers such as usb ports, vga, hdmi.

That sounds to me like what they did with the 4Trak.

ParticipantI take issue with your statement that the Mixdeck-NS6 and NS7 are their money-makers – this simply isn’t quite true. While obviously those controllers are the most pro, Numark is making cash by the boatload selling consumer and pro-sumer products such as the Mixtrack Quad and Mixtrack Pro. the MTP has been the biggest selling low-end controller for 2 years running – Why should Numark stop making consumer and pro-sumer products that are flying off the shelves? The NS7 II is great, the NS6 still works fine, and touring/gigging DJ’s like them and have the $$$ to shell out. Numark is focusing on the lower price point, all the kids who want to get into DJ-ing but don’t have $800+ to shell. They shouldn’t slow down, because their economic model is perfect right now.
