i use a piece of kit called an analogue to digital converter to record my mixes to mini disc.but i use serato and the denon mc6000 which has analogue outputs so i can record on the fly.my dac has optical as well.

I think your laptop running slow is probably another issue & I doubt recording your set w/ Traktor will affect that. Having said that, yes …listening to your set after the fact is a great habit to get into, the downside is sometimes you think you sounded great live & this is a bit of a reality check.

Sorry I’m a bit late in replying, only joined today so therefore only just saw this!

Definitely record your set. If you’re playing a house party then it’s obviously a very personal night you’re doing. No doubt you’ll be DJing for a lot of your friends. By recording your set, not only can you listen back but you can also send copies of the mix to your friends. That way you can generate some hype and get more people wanting to do your night.
    Hope it went well!

Thanks man! It went better than expected. People were asking me lots of things , and luckily I made some cool presentation cards so they could hire me on their events, and I did record the whole mix! I might have to split it into 3 parts since it’s 3 hour long, the cool thing is that I recorded it with no problem at all.

Congrats! You can upload it to mix cloud, they have unlimited upload sizes. It may take a while but it may be worthwhile! Good job
