In primary school there was 3 choices.
Recorder
violin
saxophone
I learnt the recorder..

But in high school i did learn the keyboard for the first 3 years. And played the drums for about 2 years before getting into djing.

I started out playing keyboard (not piano). tried producing, but the technology wasn’t that good.
I eventually went into DJ’ing, where it has been until recently where I got into production as the technology has got to the point of actually working for me.

I played drums for a few years, it was never a passion just more of a hobby. I’m not great but I can easily get by while jamming with random people.

I took singing lessons when I was young and am a pretty good singer. Was frontman of a band for about 10 years as a side project to my DJing.
I play guitar pretty well, not a “shred guitarist” with mad solos, but I can dish out some pretty good solo action and was playing guitar in the band too, but as “second guitarist” (and to make my singing look cooler hehe)

I also play to some degree (from best to worst): Drums and Percussions, Bass, Banjo (don’t ask) and “Maultrommel”
I can find my way around a keyboard/synth, but I could never perform live on it, I just use my knowledge in harmony to key in stuff via a midi keyboard into reason or logic.

I’m playing bass for ~6 years now, besides that I can play acoustic guitar a little and am currently trying to improve myself on the keyboard : ) I’m also magically attracted by a drum kit everytime I see one, don’t own one myself though.

Played Trumpet from Fifth grade through college; either marching bands or jazz ensembles. Will probably pick it back up some day once life slows down a bit and I have more play time.

Been a drummer ’til 3 years ago, I had with friends a trash metal band (metallica were our heroes!)
Don’t really know how I ended up been a dj that loves Drum n bass!

I have a bit of a lame story…I saw Mr Holland’s Opus and started playing the clarinet the very next day…didn’t last more than a week or two before I realised it was hard.

I do play a pretty mean spoon though!

I’ve played the drums for upwards of two years now, and I do have to say that learning rhythm and counting through there has really, reeeaaally helped with djing.

I learnt organ from age 5, then drums, can strum a git a pluck a bass. But this year at 42 years old I began a diploma in technical production (read audio engineer). Now I am actually enjoying music again.

I myself play Piano, Upright Bass, and Bass Guitar. When I entered college, I was a Music Theory/Composition major, and focused on a mastery of counterpoint. While EDM is a guilty pleasure, I bump Chopin, Lully, Rameau, Mendelssohn, Mussorgsky and a few others (Bach, of course) when I am listening to music alone =).
