I play drums and piano but drums will always be my favorite! Playing along to Metallica and The Mars Volta is the most fun you can have when beating the crap out of things.

I’m mediocre on the saxophone although I used to be pretty good. With the discovery of electronic music a year and a half ago, I spend more time listening to music than making it (saxophone) and so I have gotten worse over time believe it or not.

I have no Musical Training. Spent most of my years in sports. Not playing an instrument was probably one of my worst decisions growing up. This is why I got into Djing. I loved the music for so long and figured why the heck not?

Sadly, no. I attempted with guitar in Jr. HS, a couple friends and I were gonna be the next Metallica, damnit :-p. I would love to learn piano and a percussion .

Guitar, bass, and keys. My musical progression went (a) playing in rock bands (b) then doing production for my band & friends bands (c) then producing house music (d) which lead into DJ’ing. When I started to learn to DJ I thought beatmatching was a breeze since I was used to playing bass & locking in w/ a drummer which in a way is a different version of beatmatching.

I played a little piano, guitar and the xylophone but haven’t touched any of them in years. I could never read sheet music and just played back what I heard others playing. Used to really piss off my instructors.

Oh, and of course, the cowbell. Everything needs more cowbell.

I am a drummer, started when I was 10 yers old and was playing for about 25 years, then I stoped and started again
3 years ago. I played in hard rock cover bands with double bass drums and now I have a break (between bands) again.
I also play a bit of guitarr and Pioano / USB keyboard.
I think i gain a lot from my drumming when it comes to my DJing as it is easier to understand the build up of music and where to put the next song and how to count beats in your head at the sime time as you speak to someone making a request and so on…..

I’ve been taking bass lessons since January last year. Wasn’t quite sure how I’d get on starting at 36 as I’d never had any real musical training before but I really love it. I’ve had issues with depression these last ten years and both getting into playing bass and djing has really helped. I even got to meet Dave Ellefson and Frank Bello from Megadeth and Anthrax at a bass clinic in Romford earlier last year. I also enjoy playing around with some of the free/cheap ios music apps.

I use to play the trombone for about 3 years when I was in high school but stopped…..was thinking about it the other day….possibly a reason why today I love playing around with deep/heavy bass lines and loops
