    How you wire them (in what order) is actually not important. DMX works with an “address”. So you need to have the right address set in the fixture (usually via jumper switches or a setting in the units DMX settings).
    So basically if the unit is configured correctly you can put them in any order you like.

    And if you don’t want to control each fixture separately, you can give a group of fixtures the same address and they will all behave the same. This is particularly handy if you have lots of room light/uplighting fixtures for example.
