MemberWould it be a house party or something bigger? What controller is it?
My first time I did a party was for my friends frat party with the Ion Discover and that went well. Now I have the Numark Mixtrack and I have done from family parties to sweet sixteen. Sometimes its not the equipment you have but how you use it.

Hello Patrick 🙂
Of Course you can 🙂
What Skills do you feel you have Currently ?
Are you able to ‘Move Around/Use’ your Controller Confidently ?
Are you Confident about your Current Level of Confidence in front of Others ?
Have you ‘Practised’ your DJ Skills enough to ‘Feel’ You Are Ready to Get Out There In Front Of A Crowd ?August 6, 2011 at 2:51 pm #5289Patrick
MemberHello Emma :p
Well I Feel i can Transition From Song to Song ? I can make mixes? IF that’s What you mean? By skills?
Yes I am 😀
No Not really! Im really quite shy 😮
Well No? Not really :/August 6, 2011 at 3:24 pm #5291mr stifffy
MemberPractise practise practise once you feel like you can mix any of your songs in with any other one then you’ll be fine, practise some routines to show of what you can do and why you choose to use a controller over a standardized setup (according to people this would be cds or vinyl).
If you are looking for ways to use it check out the videos in the main page of djtechtools.com there is a few performance videos or even youtube and search for ean golden.Its not what you use its how you use it and the noise that comes out of the speakers…. For your first gig whilst you may feel nervous and feel like everyone is staring at you. You really shouldnt play like you would at home, smile and remember that people really dont care or even really understand what you are doing.
Once they see you dancing around with a smile having fun that will get people in the mood too aswell…. A room full of smiles and happy people will give the atmosphere a better feeling so no matter how nervous you are just mess about and enjoy yourself and i PROMISE you the other people there will follow!!!

MemberHello Patrick 🙂
That is Wonderful first of all that you are Confident about your Transitions and Mixing;
And also Wonderful that you are Confident with your Controller;
This Makes you a DJ 😎
So; with Being a DJ; it is a Case Of Working on your Confidence in Front Of People; and your Feelings Of ‘Readiness’ to Perform In Front Of A Crowd;
I would Hope to Reassure you by saying With Full Confidence; that;
1: Most (if Not All) DJ’s Are Shy (this is Why We like to ‘Hide Away’ in a Booth/be Seperated From The Crowd);
2: We Are All (Most) Completely Nerve Wracked before Going On Stage (unless Full Of Alcohol or Drugs);
Would it be Possible (Before you DJ at your Friends Party) for you to Play In Front of One of your Friends; then 2 of your Friends; then 4 of your Friends; and therefore ‘Building Up Your Confidence’ in DJ’ing in Front Of A Crowd;
Or even have a few ‘Close’ Friends over where you can all have a Drink; and you can DJ as if it is ‘No Big Thing’ ?These are just ‘Little Techniques’ to Get You To Where You Want To Be 🙂 😎

Totally agree 🙂 this is how I practise new stuff… Invite the lads over have a few drinks and see if they like my new material or techniques… It never fails if they says its shit its back to the drawing board… If they says its really good its then in my killer list or if they just drink away relaxed its something thats usable at doesnt stand out 🙂

Hello Patrick 🙂
I am listening to your YouTube Mix now and it is Very Cool 😎
You are doing some things there that only a Trained Ear can pick up; but this is Marvelous !
We just have to get your Confidence Up as your Friend’s Party wouldn’t know what Hit Them 🙂Ah; Like Me (I am Happy To Admit); at 4.47 the Volume of the Track you are Bringing Is is ‘Too High’;
So those ‘Tiny Errors’ (as it is the Only One I have heard in the Mix); just have to ‘Watched Out For’ 🙂August 7, 2011 at 4:14 am #5316Patrick
MemberWoah ! i am! 😮
And Well i will get my confidence! up 😀
Ohhh Alright Thank You i will take that into acknowledgment! 😀
And i learned i was mixing wrong i think? i using the knobs! to transtion! from song to song! Knobs Low, Med, high!
instead of the crossfader! :/ -
