I think both do well in terms of usage and focus on different things, but djay seems to be more “finished” and polished and I get the hang of it better.

right on. I do like how DJ Player will support MIDI controllers such as the mixtrack pro. does Djay have a sampler? Thats one thing I wish DJ Player had, even tho it wouldnt be very convenient to load samples up.

Djay is very nice, its simple but very easy to use, i use it with the numark IDJ pro and love it, when sync’d with the hardware the samp banks open up and you can use the ipads touch screen during live mixes

I like the way DJ Player is built from the ground up, not trying to emulate real life gear, but using the touch capabilities of the iPad. As such it does require a bit of a mental switch to work with.

It certainly has some clever ways of integrating kill switches and such.

And I have played around with the NetOut functionality so you can hook up your headphone to your ipod/iphone wirelessly (really funky running around a venue with your cans around your neck and they are actually functional :-).
It works like a charm. I think I had to dial in about 10ms delay on the mains to sync it but then it works. So no more cumbersome cans cable to worry about!

Lots of possible setups, controller support, etc.

I have used (and liked Algoriddims DJ), but right now my money is on DJ Player.

I am a bedroom dj using DJ Player app on my iPad, custom mapped to my Mixtrack Pro. I really enjoy using this program, and it offers anything you would need to mix. As someone mentioned, it does take a bit of getting used to, especially navigating between deck/mixer/track screens.

I also use the Netout iPhone app, sending master instead of prelisten. I have this connected to my line-in on my desktop computer, which I use to record my practice. A very useful app.
