They think all DJ’s will spin Tupac. Even ones with blond hi lights and face piercings.

I’ve been doing this wrong for 7 years. Playing music has never made a woman want to pay me for sex.

Lol, yeah. Had a row with a guy on Youtube about not all DJs being producers. He was totally ignorant.

    Why failed producers? O.o

    No; I didn’t mean that that was ‘My View’;
It is just that I have heard a Number Of Times people saying:
‘Oh; You are Only a DJ because you can’t Make A Song Of ‘Your Own’; so you just Play ‘Other People’s’

I get this from a lot of djs. that hip-hop djs hate djs from other genres or that a _____ dj can easily dj other genres (im a hip-hop dj and i tried to do jungle thinking it was easy and wound up sounding like crap. lol so i can attest its not easy)

i honestly think a dj should at least know a little bit of producing…i’m not saying that he has to be a producer, but just to know all the effort and energy there is to put to make a track.
I started out as a producer, before djing….

thats kind of funny to me(not in a bad way) because in hip-hop most of the best producers were djs(rza, pete rock, premire, babu) i find it a little odd when i see a producer that wasnt a dj

Hate to enforce the stereotype, but I am a gay DJ 😀

Stereotypes I get a lot and despise:

I do every drug under the sun; I don’t do any except for nicotine and alcohol.

I can mix any two tracks together; If someone can find me a way to go from drum and bass to the Vengaboys, be my guest.

    I can scratch; I can’t.

    I’m a producer; I’m not.

I can remix any track there and then; I can’t. This also includes the chavs saying “Naww mate, stick a bassline on it!”

I can turn up to DJ with 30 mins notice; It takes hours of prep-work.

I’m a party animal; Sure, I like parties, and love to drink, but to be honest, I’m happy with a glass of wine in a nice chilled bar.

I’ll DJ your wedding for you; Probably should considering it’s easy money (and plenty of it), but I’d be bored to death.

I want to talk about music and nothing else; I love to talk about music, but it’s not my entire life.

I use vinyl; Why would I carry around 85 metric tons of music around when I can take tens of thousands of tracks in a few kilos?

I can use any digital DJ software on the planet; I went back to VDJ the other day and realised I’d forgotten how to use it (I use Traktor now)

I’m sure there’s more. Writing this has actually made me a little angry lol
