If you’re running windows, check out ‘The One’. http://one.dj/

I tried the beta, was ok, not for me, more used to using traktor/CDJ’s these days, but did used to use mixmeister back in the day, and it’s pretty similar, although a lot more advanced than the version of Mixmeister I used (5).

Thanks Robert! This is along the lines of what I’m looking for.

Sorry. Ableton is at the time the cream of the crop and “the one” wants in there, but having tried it I cannot say I really like it.
Why is Ableton so alone there?
I do not know, but it seems to be the only software which gets the whole quantization right, which is a MUST for that style of DJing and I have yet to see a software that includes video.

However you can rig VDJ to look like that and make things with video. It is a lot of work to do it, but I have seen it done. But you have to be half a programmer I guess to pull it off.

I know both CuBase and ProTools do video AND audio, have beatgridding/elastic audio and obviously extensive plug-in control. But they ARE both true DAW’s and DJ-in with it is not in their DNA. I am assuming (since there is extensive midi support in both) that you COULD probably get something going.

I seriously doubt if the resulting workflow is gonna be very DJ-friendly.

IF you really really really need the video feature also, I guess running both, Ableton and Resolume for the video feature can do the trick, and you can control it all in one controller also, like APC for example…

Keep an Eye on the new FL Studio 11, hearsay it also has a live-mode
