Seriously….do you all buy the latest and greatest/most expensive dj equipment? how many of you all started out with the basic mixer and 2 turntables? no one has insight on a basic low priced but good dj mixer? serious?

The Behringer DJX700 was my first 4 channel mixer. I wanted to get a rough feel for the Pioneer DJM600/800 whilst I was saving for it. The mixer build quality isn’t amazing but it will get the job done and you can pick these up dirt cheap. The sound quality is pretty horrible but again for what you’re paying its what you’d expect. You would get better quality buying a cheap 2nd hand Numark or Vestax 2 channel mixer.

I wouldn’t use a djx700 again if you paid me. If I were you I’d look into a used xone:22, djm707 or djm400, The numark mixers are pretty poor quality comparatively and vestax only really shine when it comes to turntablism as they use high quality P&G faders but the eq doesn’t sound as good imo. The xone definitely has the best sound out of them but it looks a little weird though.

Thank you BOTH for your feedback. Much appreciated. I will be avoiding the Behringer djx700. Overall sound is important.

Smart move. If sound is the important factor then stay well away.
