Depending on the size of the venue add more of the same unit, but you need at least those 2 (or similar products):
ADJ Dotz TBar System (cheapest way to get decent “can par” system) for basic lighting
ADJ Jellyfish or Jelly Gressor (cheapest all night going moonflower) for the flower effect

    This you can upgrade with:
Other flow effects: Gem pulse, Revo III, Monster Fun, …
A decent Hazer would be good for feeling.

I would for the beginning stay away from scanners, moving heads and lasers. While effective you need more than one and they are hugely expensive and you need more know how to operate them.

Frankly, I’d not buy anything at this point. Party size vs expectation has a logaritmic scale in my opinion. If you have a poor party for 40 people, they’ll be glad there is some light at all. If you have 80 people (especially paying guests) they expect some serious lights (the kind that require knowledge to set up and at least 3-4 times the money you pay for Chauvet/ADJ stuff). Put 200 paying guests in a room and they expect nothing less than sprofessional light show done by a light jockey and not some random lights in auto or music mode.

So, my advice here would be to bring in a light guy, have hin arrange lighting and operate it so you can focus on DJ-ing. Cut him in for a share. Throw a professional party that way and you can expect good mouth to mouth and repeat customers. Be cheap and amateuristic about it and you’ll lose both reputation and customers. Just my two cents as usual

Those were both very good points made. Where can I find someone that can deal with the lighting and special effects aspect for me? I am not throwing a professional party either, I am throwing a dance party for mostly 18 year olds and charging no more than $10 to make up for the costs of what I need to buy. I just want to make it as cool as possible without breaking the bank.
