ACER ASPIRE! CRAP! DO NOT BUY AN ASPIRE! unless you’re convinced it’s good.

    want a laptop with 1080 X 920 display, intel i5 processor, 6gb ram, 500 gb hard drive and alot of other nice specs with a 160$ discount?

    yes you do… unless its an Aspire.

    my Aspire sucks so bad you have to quit Windows explorer when you dj, because it uses 98 freakin’ % of your cpu usage.

    WOOOT?

    oh yeah, and did i mention that it won’t play your aiff tracks? Cus Aspire hates you, that’s why.

    Acer support couldn’t help me, and it is impossible to install win7 instead of win8 of an unknown reason. :C

    so.. be extremely careful with choosing an Acer Aspire

    cheers! 🙂

    I use Serato on my desktop at home (big screen, great speakers), but used Windows7 work laptop elsewhere…..now that was not good. USB dropouts being the problem.

    So I just got a mint Macbook Pro with 8GB RAM from ebay for it and that works like a charm.

    They are pricey, but reason I did that was that on teh serato forum most people swear by them!

For $1500 I’ve bought a Clevo W650R:

Intel QuadCore I7 4700MQ, 2,4Ghz / 3,4Ghz;

16GB DDR3;

1 mSATA SSD 256GB for running Windows and Traktor;

1 HDD 1TB for storing music;

Smart Lithium-Ion 6 cell battery that can last for 5h while using the laptop at full performance;

15,6” LCD Matte screen, 1920×1080 HD.

Avoid common windows based laptop brands (sony, toshiba, hp, dell, acer, asus…), Clevo, AKG and Rain have better suited laptops to work with music software, all the components are top notch.

And if you’re looking for something different and portable, check the Razer Edge Pro!

    Mac all the way. I bought the latest 13″ in january (my first macbook ever :D) and have not regretted it once. If I was made to choose one reason – I took my girlfriend at the time’s laptop to a club, and tried to hook it up to the Nexus setup they were running, with all the correct drivers and the latest Traktor update. 45 minutes, and then the mapping was utterly sketchy for some reason. Macbook in the same place? Worked straight away. It’s just… better.
