Best bet to do would be to go find a good handy carpenter, with this worldwide recession shouldnt be hard to find one out of work, and get the table custom made, something like this in Ireland I would charge maybe 300 euro to make, and that would be to your complete specifications only thing you would need to do is paint it since my spray booth is currently unavailable.

I dunno. I still think it’s a bit insane to get that kind of stuff.

I ended up getting a L-shaped desk from IKEA and it works nicely for my computer and DJ stuff.

Ditto Ikea. You can buy individual components for a desk so you can get exactly what you want. It’s very good value too. I got mine for around £80.

Def either IKEA or build it yourself. It’s not hard to slap a few pieces of wood together if you have the tools and the ideas.

I do like the Idea of Metal to be Truthful; as apart from the Massive Desks I have in my Room; which are not Really Portable; I would Hate to see £8,000 Worth Of Equipment Smashed on the Floor of some Venues 🙁
However; if the Tables you have Depicted are for your Room; and they were Up Against A Wall they Look Solid 🙂

I have IKEA too, I got the Expedit bookshelf on it’s side:
    http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50103086

On top I get 2 decks and a xone 92 mixer (similar in size to DJM i guess), also a xone 1d. The laptop and soundard fit on a stand. Underneath I have storage for my vinyl, I dont know the dimensions of the Akai, but I guess if it does not fit in below, you could use another stand, I have a trolley for my amp and other stuff close by.

I have almost the exact same thing with two Technics 12’s and a Denon Mc6000 between them. I actually went with two of the 2×2 versions so as to not have to put the unit on its side and risk putting too much pressure on the corners joints which weren’t meant to sustain weight. I have my Technics in flight cases and was extremely concerned about weight.
You can see a pic of my set-up in at this thread:

Like Haroon said, the storage underneath is perfect for vinyl.

yup, +1 for ikea. Ive managed to fit quite a lot on my £50 horizontal bookcase. Check it out in the setups thread, its the last set of pics: http://digitaldjtips.com/forum/threads/post-a-pic-of-your-set-up.90/page-3

I ran out of room when I wanted my TT’s regular style, not battle. So I went and bought a £5 shelf from ikea, got my DIY skillz warmed up and hacked it on the end. Sweet 🙂

Theres a massive thread on modding ikea stuff over on the DJForums website in the accessories section. Shame the site is down again *sigh*

Hello People, i really appreciate your feedback, pictures & links!!! great 🙂
i was at ikea on the weekend and checked the Expedit, but they are all to small, maybe because i am too tall. i am 1,93 cm. The expedit is way to small, also i don t think that its possible to place the turntables in battle, or i m wrong?
The expedit should be about 30 cm higher for me. What yall did, you customized it?
I am not really a craftsman and don t have the time to build a table by my own, i wish i could 🙂
Anybody else could recommend me some “DJ tables”?
I saw this tables on the net, looks really nice, especially with the light. I hope i can find some time to check it…

+1 on get someone to make one up for you. I had a builder mate do this:

    http://www.digitaldjtips.com/forum/threads/post-a-pic-of-your-set-up.90/page-2

(The post at the very top of that page). It does everything I could ever want – although if I was doing it again, I’d probably offset the laptop stand.

Ikea sell legs and feet tooo 😉
I’ve seen a few Expedit based builds where people have even put the legs on the top surface and attached another level on top, which tuned out nice.

I had 1 made to measure a lot like the Sefour 1 in the OP with some extra stands and a laptop/monitor shelf in the middle by an eBay seller who makes them from MDF to order so it’s exactly the right height for me and all my gear is within reach.

“DJ Furniture”? Oh man, I totally found my new DJ name.

Seriously though, one of my mate’s got a table like this (or something along these lines anyway):

Which I decided to test out with my controller and laptop, it worked pretty well, a bit on the narrow side, but I’m sure that can be remedied somehow.

The expedit on its own is too small, I bagged a different bookcase that was next to the expedit display stand, I cant seem to find it online though. Its 91cm wide (or tall on its side). Its the perfect for me and im 6ft/184cm tall.

You can always hack on some feet (also sold at ikea) and theres some slanted stands too that look good for raising the height or adding more shelving. Adding stuff to it and customising is easy as pie as long as you have a few basic tools. e.g. screwdriver, drill & tape measure.

I would say, if you plan on hacking something together to support battle position tables, you’ll want a large tabletop to go on top of the expedit bookcase.

Check out this thread over at djforums: http://www.djforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=222189

Literally everything you need down to specific part names can be found in there.
