ModeratorDepends on the size of the room and the number of people, but I think you are well on your way.

ParticipantA couple of T-bars for your lights/a lighting bar? Lights work so much better when they are elevated π
Other than that, you are almost there… Just remember that it doesn’t matter how good the lights you own are, if people cant see what they are doing, they are as good as useless π
For example, this is my regular (weekly) venue for the DJing I do – I used 6 PAR 56 LED Cans to light this (Apologies for the huge mackies in the way… π )

ParticipantCould you recommend me a product or products that would work for me? I will be playing lots of upbeat music / house ect.

ParticipantLOts of lights. any will do – as long as they are LED and flash to the music. beyond that, there isnt much..
Some moonflower lights can be really effective as well.. brands dont really matter if im honest – though notable ones are chauvet, american audio, martin (way out of your price range btw).. they will all work

ModeratorI don’t think Martin will appreciate you sticking them in the same bin as American Audio and Chauvet and then saying the brands really don’t matter. Both build quality and performance quality are MUCH better with anything from Martin than their counterparts from the low end brands.

ParticipantWhat minimum equipments are necessary for a home studio for djing practise? Especially for a beginner.

ModeratorHey Manish,
First of all, don’t “hijack” an existing post to ask a new question. Better to make a new post.
Second, there have been quite a few questions like this (even recently). Use the search function of the forums and read up a little bit. If you are left with some more specific questions, feel free to drop those in a new post again.March 21, 2015 at 9:37 am #2159941Manish Kishore
ParticipantHey DJ Vintage,
I really don’t understand whats wrong in asking questions in an existing post. I’m not showing disrespect to anyone. And second thing, i know there are so many questions in this forum before about the home studio, but i asked because i’m a beginner, i needed assistance in buying those equipments thats why i asked. I forgot to make a new post. And thanks for your help Vintage..

ModeratorIt makes all of our lives easier if posts don’t get amended by other questions halfway down the line. Didn’t say you were disrespecting anyone. Just suggested making a new post rather than doing it this way.
I get that you are a beginner, we have plenty of those and many not so beginner anymore started out here as beginners. So, everybody is “beginner-friendly” here. It’s what we look out for.
I think you got a nice, concise answer in your seperate post.
Good luck with your start in the wonderful world of DJ-ing and producing.

Ha ha – maybe you’re right. Although at the low end, brands don’t matter as such – many of the products are exactly the same with different logos on anyway π
You are right about Martin though – their kit is way beyond anything that the budget end produces. They are however much more expensive as a result.. Their kit does work though – and my experiences of MAC 350s have always been positive π

ModeratorYeah the Macs will run forever, as will their foggers and just about anything else they put out.
I agree that at the lower end the brands don’t really matter. Having said that, both Chauvet and American Audio seem to have offerings that are actually their own products. In days past you could find rebranded American Audio stuff that was exactly the same with a different sticker. That no longer seems to be the case. And I can’t speak for Chauvet (it seems a brand primarily big in the US) but American Audio (notwithstanding the brand name very well known in my part of Europe LOL) has made some serious strides in their quality. I put it a definite notch or two above the real budget brands now.
