ParticipantIf you wanna use traktor and youve got 400 quid then either go for the RELOOP JOCKEY 3 OR DENON MC3000…..depends what other needs you have inputs/outputs etc

Blockedwell the only little thing that would be an advantage is a slot so i could add in an external source if laptop crashed…alot of controller havent got thou,, will check the two you have mentioned. you against the S2 then?

ParticipantS2 has no through input…no analogue ins..no booth out
And the jogs are a secondary thought. It just isnt for me
If the denon mc3000 had analouge ins i would have bought
that..excellent kit…well built too.although i love my jockey 3.May 13, 2012 at 9:15 am #1004334Maximlee
BlockedCheck out both and the denon looks mint… But the reloop jockey has more features. Even thou I’m only stating out really it would still be good to have all that I will ever need in one box.. Instead of having to buy another one in 6-8months cau I want a line input. Saying that thou the denon looks the Business… It looks so well built. Yeah these two controllers make the S2 look like a over priced plastic toy.
the denon is definitely the best I guess the question that I have to answer is… Do I really need inputs :D. Thanks for replys. Got it narrowed down to two 😀

Blockedbeen checking out… the denon is 150 cheaper than reloop…. this may sway me

Participantwell the denon isnt really cheaper because you get more with the reloop, however i do agree that the denon is built great and is an excellent piece of kit, however its completely digital, and for me this was a dis-advantage as i still play vinyl as well as digital media. You need to think about the ‘future’, and how your set up might or might not develop. In terms of build quality they are both excellent.

ParticipantThe S2 makes up for lack of build quality through super tight Traktor integration,so bear that in mind to, although the RELOOP is pretty sweeeet!!!!! with traktor

BlockedYeah it is tough..just thinking that friends in Manchester have deck so if I took over I could hook up the reloop and everyone would be happy. Yeah went completely off S2… Just read that in the 2.5 upgrade of traitor you can have up to 64 samples per deck… I think that the denon and reloop offer more control than S2. Read alittle bit about the jog wheel on reloop beening alittle off.. Is this true.. Just seen Dj Angelo demo vid of reloop… Looks so slick.

ParticipantAfter current firmware upgrade absolutely fine. I dont scratch so no
probs for me. 99% of all current controllers dont have
perfect jogs yet. Mapping and hardare not quite there yet.
in my opinion but for my style of djing its fine…for me reloop
For the price is a gem…like i said either controller is good.
Good luck….May 14, 2012 at 1:28 am #1004358Steelo
ParticipantBoth controllers seem pretty legit. I like the look of the reloop and I have to admit I’m a bit DJ Angelo fan too. I basically learnt to scratch off his tutorials. Its nice to see build quality and ruggedness being a thought in the design process now. Something that has been lacking with controllers for some time…that being

BlockedSomething that has just dawned on me and as you have the reloop you are in a good place to answer jahitty (thanks for all your feedback by the way)
If for example i have a track playing on deck A and i have a track cued and ready for play on track B but have a idea of a bongo loop from the intro of a record that would go well with deck As record that will give extra groove and can be used to aid transition with effects etc…. so i load the track into deck C and cut the bass and highs off… so the bongos fit in the mix… all going good so far, then i flip back to deck A cau the mix is about to happen and need to swap the basses for example… well as i cut the bass and highs on the knobs when in deck C they will still be in that position… any movement and the audio will jump in volume…
now i hope that i have explained that right… but it something that is not covered in any video review that i have seen… but for me its massive cau yes im only starting out… but i know what i want to be able to do and this is such any example. Is there away round this the controller.. of course i havent got one to test out but i would love if someone that has one could explain what id do in this situation… its just in my head this is going to be an issue

MemberHi EveryBody I need your help, I have 2 problems I own 2 denon s3700’s that was advertised as working with Virtual dj, but since I have made it work, it keeps glitching on me. So I would never use it as a midi controller when I dj at a party. If there is anyone using there denon 3700 0r 1200 with virtual dj without any problems please contact me on how you are doing it.
My second problem is that I found the greatest MIdi controller for a mobile dj, but one glitch, it has the worst jog wheels for scratching so i sent it back. Now I am looking for a new controller that has the same features but with a worthy scratch and NO LIMITED EDITION software (but if it has everything I am willing to pay for pro), these are the features I NEED:•Uses USB Flash Drive and as a media source (I REALLY NEED THIS, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO AT A PARTY AND YOUR LAPTOP DIES & DON’T SAY IT WONT!) and both Jog Wheels plays from the same USB
•Auto Fader Start (in both cross and Line Fader)
•An independant mixer with the ability to plug in 2 external devices (turntable or CDJ’s)
•MIDI mappable where i can map all the buttons so i can stay off the keyboard.
•Auto Touch Rewind, Auto Cue, A. CUE, CUP? or whatever it is that they call it (the ability to touch the jog wheel and the song starts Playback at the last cue point no matter what part of the song your in.)
•natively supported software for MIDI control either Serato Itch or Virtual Dj Pro, (It has to mix videos also so Traktor is out of the question)
•Very Good Jogwheels for Scratching and a good soundcard to handle the external devices (turnatble, cdj etc.)
•On Board Effects, loops and Cues that work with the USB and midi software
•Auto – Relay
•Microphone inputs Preferably 2
This is the Ultimate Midi Controller, please dont say nothing comes with all of these features becausee as I said previously I had a midi controller with all these things it was the American Audio Versadeck but the scratching was lousy. I haven’s seen a better one yet, If you know of one please email me the name at nighttimeent@yahoo.com.
Thank You for letting me vent!May 15, 2012 at 7:08 am #1004437Maximlee
