Oh, I saw the word FAQ in the other forum and automatically posted in there. As you can see I don’t post a lot so it was a simple mistake- please don’t speak to me that way again DJ Vintage; you can correct someone without the unnecessary snarkiness. Appreciate it!

Lauren has recently answered this question on the main site; thanks!

The first part of my comment was personal, the second part general (noticed the “guys” and “gals” bit, indicating multiple non-specified individuals?). Sorry if you feel offended.

Unfortunately, this happens weekly because people don’t take the time to figure things out before posting. And since we (moderators) do this totally voluntary, next to pretty busy paid jobs, it helps if people do their part and make our life’s a little easier. We prefer spending our (limited and valuable) time answering questions over chasing down stuff like posts in the wrong forums, all caps headers and such.

Glad you got your question answered. As we are independent from the main site and have nothing to do with the courses and I personally haven’t seen the entire new course yet I could not have told you the difference (yet).

@NewDJ – Not that Vintage needs me to jump to his defence, but his reply wasn’t “snarky” and lecturing moderators how to speak to you isn’t going to win you a lot of friends. But more importantly, if an off-the-cuff comment like that set you off, let me be blunt – this isn’t the right industry for you.

The bar business, the DJ business, and the music industry as a whole are full of people who will be snarky with you, for no better reason than they don’t like your shoes. They’ll bad mouth you behind your back to get ahead. All kinds of nasty. Not trying to discourage you, but you’re going to need a thicker skin.

This site on the other hand is normally a pretty welcoming place full of friendly people. So try to be a little more appreciative of the delightful goodness that is DDJT. 🙂

Todd Oddity, I wasn’t set off at all. I said what I had to say calmly and moved on (shrug). If me expressing the fact that I didn’t like the way someone spoke to me would deter someone else from wanting to be friends, that’s his problem.

I’ve been in the bar industry for years, I can hold my own; my skin’s good! 🙂
