    Wow so many words, ….
Dear reader if you could not read that wall of text here is the summary:
Denon makes good gear = Denon = good.
Ultramixer = worst software ever seen = evil
Denon + Ultramixer = still evil = even the best hardware cannot make bad software work
Denon hardware is however still good.

    Thanks for reading 😉

P.S. had to download Ultramixer too and man it is really really bad…

Well, they told me my contract was on a -per word-basis so … you know …

I like how Terry put it lol, I’m a huge fan of Denon myself and this sorta worries me although I don’t think I won’t be affected by it presently with my MC3k and Traktor. It might affect my future purchases from Denon though.

Would it be possible to organise tunes in RB and Engine, but have them on the same usb stick? Or am I just being stupid?

I still love their stuff, but I would have been more impressed if they made their SC-series RekordBox as well as Engine compatible than I am by them teaming up with something I consider a tad less than a winner.

And the answer is … drumm roll … Yes, you can save both on one stick I think. However, carrying two sticks (taking into account, weight, volume, size and the opportunity to hook two up to a keyring) wouldn’t be an issue. You could even color-code your stick depending on platform. What DOES bother me is the idea of having to do everything twice. Every beatgrid, every cue point, loop, hot cue.

It really IS time for a universal agreement between companies on how to store all that stuff with your MP3 and be readable in ANY DJ SOFTWARE. Wherever your music goes, your info goes. If you take your USB stick anywhere that has CD-layers (not just Pioneer) that have a USB port, stick it in, load a track and presto! all your point and stuff in there. Maybe not your beatgrids, and maybe not the search index (typical proprietary ways of doing things), but all the rest for sure.

Oh well, said it before, but probably won’t be happening.

It will never happen… simply because Pioneer has the leadership in clubs and if they opened up their software to others they are easier to attack.
