    Hi Ian,

The MC3000 is the MC6000’s younger and smaller brother. While absolutely suitable for mobile gigs it wasn’t just a 2-channel version, it lacked a few features the 6000 had. The 3000 however has never been out as mk2. The 6000 has. The follow up for the 3000 is the 4000.

Sorry I meant the Denon MC6000MK2 which I have been looking at, don’t no why I put the MC3000! I am assuming the MC6000MK2 is the flagship controller in the range. My only grip with it after getting tape measure out was the size other than that it seems well built.

It’s 19″ and compact. The layout on the mk2 is better than on the original which is the one I used professionally for a couple of years. It’s, imho, the best mobile controller out there and built like a tank. The mk2 got an (even) better sound card and a few other bits and pieces like Serato support.

Unless you have really really thick and somewhat uncoordinated and clumsy fingers, I can vouch for the MC6000 as a great controller for that bracket of DJ-ing.

I can also vouch for Denon quality. With only one exception, I’ve been using their gear now since 1993 and every single piece has been built like a bloody tank, which is a very good thing because it seriously took my service guy almost an hour just to open up a 6000mk1, let alone actually do any work on the thing.

Jokes aside, if you’re thinking mobile, the 6000 is the best product out there for you. The 2-channel 4000 will be an excellent option too for mobile by the looks of it (available later this summer). I also used my 6000 in the club for almost 3 years so they can pull that duty too without issue.

Thanks for that, for the price and what you get especially build quality its seems that its well worth the money. I didn’t know about the 4000, I could wait for that or just pay a 100 pounds more and get four channels.

Not just 4 channels, but the 6000 is a full standalone mixer too, which the 4000 isn’t.

If you can spare the money, my choice would be the 6000mk2.

And this:http://serato.com/dj/expansion-packs/dvs, although it is an upgrade its quite handy for someone like me. I have made my mind up already & at this price point/features the 6000MK2 is the one for me.
