MemberI don’t personally own any denon units – but I have played with a mixer of theirs a little bit and I gotta say it seemed pretty solid. If I had the dough and was shopping for some newer more professional gear – their products would be a contender for my cash.

Nice one mate. Gotta say I bought a pair of KAM’s when I was 16 but the instant start was terrible and so my first club had the old Denon mk2000 (I think)……….that was it for me! Moved up to the DN-9000 which I own now and have never had a problem which is why I am almost shaking with excitement at the chance of gettin these DN-MC 6000’s……..be a relief to cut out the thousands of cd’s I currently use

KeymasterDN-MC6000 is a cool piece of kit, you wouldn’t regret that purchase.

ParticipantI agree with Phil. If you like Denon then go with the DN-MC6000. Read his review.

I read the review at the time but glad you linked it cos it’s reminded me on some bits I had forgotten. I have to wait a couple of weeks until it’s in stock for Ireland but can’t wait to get my hands on them!
I’m not great at the technical side of this as I have only DJ’d a few times using a laptop, on my trainee’s Hercules decks, so i’m sure I will be asking for alot more advice from you guys when they arrive 😉

I just want to pitch in that I actually have the DN-MC6000. Great unit, I couldn’t imagine using anything else to start with. A question though: are you getting one or two? You only need one unit, it has control over 4 decks.
Denon has trouble fulfilling orders worldwide. I had to wait a month for my MC to come in, but it’s well worth the wait.

Only getting one! I know I said “them”, but I always say that about decks 😉
They are in stock on 30th June so should have them in a couple of weeks. What software are you using? As I mentioned above, my trainee had Virtual DJ which I was ok with, but I know in Europe they are shipping with Traktor which I have limited knowledge of.
Cheers for the help

MemberI bought the Denon mc 6000 about 3 months ago. Upgraded from an RMX. Best Purchase I’ve made in years, you WILL NOT regret it I promise

Virtual DJ is quite rubbish, in my opinion, and has stability issues with the MC6000. Go to Denondjforums.com, they are the actual Denon support site where you can find the firmware updates and troubleshooting support.
I use traktor pro (the first one, not pro 2, haven’t upgraded yet). It works perfect with traktor pro, and pro 2. There was a bug with sketchy pitch control, but has since been fixed with a firmware update.
I’d say go with traktor pro or pro 2. The effects are great and the MC was built really for use with Traktor. Every feature is mapped perfectly and latency is really really low. It won’t take long to learn, I pretty much got the hang of it within a week of using it.
Not to blow my own whistle, but if you want a peek of what this unit can do by itself with just traktor, check out some of my mixes on mixcloud: http://www.mixcloud.com/arionfrost
I’m a total newb to the DJ’ing game (2 months or so), but this kit has really given me confidence to learn. Within two weeks, I stopped using sync, and now mainly use beatgridding with the pitch sliders. After a few months with the MC6000, I might just move over to CDJ’s as well.

MemberI’d say spend a lot of hands on time. I bought one as an upgrade to a mixtrack. Used for one gig, hated it, and returned it. Found the layout way too small and cramped. I also spent half the night looking for the caps on the faders cause they fly off if you flick them too hard. Buy some glue or bags of replacement fader caps. Overall it just wasn’t what I was looking for in my dj experience. I felt like I was hunched over this tiny unit instead of having space and interacting with the crowd. Build quality of the Denon is top notch.

MemberI’ve owned and currently own Denon, love the brand and quality of their product. I’m a bit disappointed in the MC6000 compared to the Kontrol S4. Wish it had more buttons and was spaced out a bit more.

ParticipantI also own the Mc6000 in large part because of the reviews here. It came with vitural DJ here in the states but I’m using it with traktor v1.2.7. I’ve had no issues thus far but still keep track of the Denon DJ forums and I must say that the support is fantastic. Just this month they’ve released a new firmware update which includes full support for traktor 2 including control of sample decks and what not. As the others have said, the mc6000 is well built and you will not be disappointed. I run 2 technics 12s through two channels and run traktor through the others and could not be happier.

i agree that the faders fly off and the buttons are cramped, but i think you didn’t give it the chance, i love my Denon and i’ll never regret the purchase. i think of it as a mixer if i ever want to star using Cdj’s or turntables i don’t need to buy a new mixer i can use my trusty Denon Mc-6000 ;)..

I like itch better anyway and found a deal on a NS7. Now I have tons of room and a holdover till I get some time to try the NS6 and get back 4 channel/ mixer. It’s a pain to move the NS7 but I have a lot more fun during the 5-6 hours I’m playing at the bar.
