Sorry to hear about you HP-1000s!
I do not understand that, I have had mine for 4-5 years now playing every weekend and I have never broke mine.

If you want a pair of headphones that lasts I do think you should go for the Senhiser HD25 as they are proven to hold.

I bought one TMA-1 5 months ago, they are amazing,
Strong, flexible, very good sound quality, were designed for DJs with the help of many DJs
and the minimalist design is awesome 😛
Not sure about the HD25 because i used one for about 1 hour(and i was already adapted with TMA-1, didnt like the bass of HD-25)

but i think you should try both before buy one
I bought the TMA-1 because a lot of producers use the HD-25
and something in my head said “why not try something new??”

The first pair of HP-1000s that I owned broke right above the swivel joint. The plastic is weakest there. Learned from that mistake and made sure that I handled them better.
Subsequent pairs have died due to the cord shorting out right above the plug. 😡

    I don’t think you’ll go wrong with HD-25s.

Went ahead and ordered the TMA-1s.
