ParticipantYou would get more answers, if you’d make a little summary what you really want. To the question (If I understood correctly), you could use EKS XP5 for example. It’s cheap. Not the best controller out there, but it works with mixer.

KeymasterWe haven’t reviewed any Behringer gear but we do plan to.

ParticipantWell as you call yourself Björn I think you understand Swedish.
As we call Behringer Billinger in Sweden is because what you suggested in your post.
(Billinger would be cheapinger in English)
that it should be high quality. Trust me it is not! You get what you pay for
(except Pio where you pay 30-40% for the logo IMO)
If you are low in budget you should try the Numark Mixtrak Pro that is the only deasent low budget controller IMO
But bear in mind it still is a low budget controller! That lacks some features and buttons and has not the best soundcard, not the best hardware and plastic cheap feel over all. Still a much better choice than Billinger IMO.
If you have a budget and want quality you should take a look at the Denon MC6000/30000
And if you do not know what a joggwheel is for you should try to find out!
IMO I can not believe people buy gear that has no joggs and if to use 4 cannnels I would need 4 joggs.
Joggwheel is used (on a controller) to scroll in your music lib.., to pitchbend/nudge, to search for cue points, to make backspinns,to stop the sound, to scratch, to bring in efx. and so on……….
It is a very essential tool for a DJ IMO among the absolute most must have things on a DJ gear
There is soo much you simply just can not do if you do not have a good joggwheel and you lack some good creativityoptions too.January 10, 2012 at 3:48 pm #12626Hee Won Jung
ParticipantFor the amount of money the DDM4000 is an amazing piece of hardware. stand alone mixer and a midi controller all in one.
Great for a beginner DJ.http://www.prodjforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6438
Now is it for what you want to do? Probably not. From the sounds of things going with an all in 1 solution is better off for you.
I suggest first off trying out Traktor. You can get a 30 day trial free of Traktor Pro 2 @ the native instruments website. IMO it is the best solution espically if you are planning on using NI Maschine.
For Controllers, The MixtrackPro is THE best budget controller on the market as far as usability vs price point.
Jogwheels are something that a lot of people require…I would fit into that catagory, but i suggest going and trying some other controllers out there and seeing what suites your style of play.
I have done gigs without Jogs using 2 X1s and mixer with Traktor. No Jog wheels NO problem…i just had to change my workflow and use one of the knobs on my X1 to nudge my tracks.Having a mindset of “I NEED THIS” or “I NEED THAT” to play properly will limit the creative abilities you restrict upon yourself.

ParticipantThanks for the reply guys .. or at least to those who actually read what i wrote before replying 😉
Im going to wait before doing anything and watch and see what NAMM will unveil. I’ve also started to map traktor demo with Maschine and all the “out” you can do for visual feedback is so fun to program. Traktor is also cheaper than Torq.
Thanks again!

MemberPhil, directly to you, could you review the Behringer BCD3000? It is an old piece of gear but its great IMO. Its just a request if you could, I would love that. Thank You.

ParticipantCheck out their new babies!! http://www.behringer.com/EN/Category/USB-MIDI-Controllers.aspx?s=O500 I think BCD3000 will be obsolete now 😉 Im looking forward to the 4ch mixer, the platter and the fx unit. Finally a pitch controller that makes sense. With soft takeover it will work perfectly as a 4 deck controller.
The drumunit isn’t velocity sensetive but like it’s said at skratchworx*, that isn’t an issue for live controllerism.
Depending on what software company they will go with, i might get the clip controller as well.
149$ for the 4ch mixer, 99$ for the rest and the non modular “intro” unit will be 199$Now let’s hear the status quo defending monkeys cry “Behringer is crap!” without even having touched the controllers 😉

KeymasterHi, I won’t be reviewing the 3000 as our review time is limited and it’s an ancient controller. Wish I cold review everything but got to prioritise.

ParticipantIt’s alright! I hope you’ll review behringer’s new controllers soon 🙂
