That’s what I’ve read. Lucked out today. Found a new pair of m-audio AV32’s at a discount price and they threw in RCA cables with the purchase. Prepping my space for the setup as we speak. Thanks for all the tips and opinions. Definately made this move much easier. Stoked to get started

While I don’t agree with Todd that cable quality makes no difference in analogue audio processing, I’ll safe that for another time, another post.

In the OPs particular case I agree that going with the supplied RCA cables will do the trick.

Well, to qualify my post, I do mean for home setups on non-pro gear. Cables make a huge difference once you get to talking about professional installations and PA. But you wouldn’t be using RCAs in those types of setups anyway… 🙂

    Hey hiRo,

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve had the Pioneer DDJ-SB2 for almost 2 weeks now, and I couldn’t be happier with it!! It’s faaaaar superior than any Numark controller I’ve ever tested, built like a tank with robust and high quality knobs/faders and metal(!) jogwheels that feel like real CDJ Jogs. The plastic body feels slightly thicker than the one on the MT3 Pro, with a brushed surface making it look like metal. The built-in LEDs are bright and colourful, the pads are not as squishy as on the MT3 and also have a tactile feedback. Sound quality is amazing, I’ve tested it with my home HiFi and also with my Audio Technica ATH-M50s. Very loud even on low volume, no distortion in the upper volume – just like it should be ;). Long story short, I highly, HIGHLY recommend buying the Pioneer DDJ-SB2 instead of the Mixtrack Pro 3!!

    Hey ITX

Great to hear. Although my choice was kinda made for me . I received the mtp3 last week as a birthday present from some friends. Sadly I’ve been so busy in the last week I haven’t been able to cracked it open. Planning to this weekend hopefully.

    Hey hiRo,

well I still think you will have a lot of fun with the MTP3. After all, it’s still a very good (looking) entry-level controller! I’m very excited to hear your review on the Numark.

Get the MTP3 the long pitchfaders and the touch strips are tons of fun. It also has illuminated jog wheels which is really nice. Auto trim keeps it below the yellow in most cases and u can ajust further in serato so trim isnt really neccesarry

Thanks for your 2 cents Jonathan . Finally unboxed and connected my setup. Whole heck of things to learn but enjoying it so far. The long pitch faders are really helping out with the beat matching.
I do have one question though. I’ve only used it a few times and the vu meters hits red every so often on the controller when the track gets loud. Although I haven’t really turned up the volume on the speakers or master gain. I’m assuming I have to adjust the master gain somewhere ?
