So I got it working and I feel like a f***ing idiot! – Apparently it was because latency (within VDJ had to be set to auto).

However, while playing through the SB it is now crackeling, how an I resolve this?

If you’re getting a crackle sound it normally means you latency is still a little too low or the computer is struggling. What are the specs on your computer?

It seems to work with the basic setup
    (Input: None
    Outputs: Headphones
    Soundcard: ASIO (Pioneer DDJ SB)

But I really wanted to use the advanced setup so that when I’m not doing gigs I could have my laptop playing the music while I cue/mix with the SB.

    However, my specs are:
    Windows 7 Ultimate
    Intel Core i5 CPU M430 @ 2.27GHz 2.27GHz
    4GB DDR3 Ram
    ATI HD5470 GFX Card

The advanced mode should not be necessary to play music out of the PC..?

If it is crackling, turn the latency up a bit – I run my Focusrite at 5ms latency but that is designed to be really low (its a recording interface) – and I have a slightly newer processor than you..

The ability to use multiple sound configurations is much improved in version 8. You may want to consider making the upgrade – I think you meet the minimum specs (although make sure to double check that). In 8 you’d get both setups saved just the way you like them and then switch between them with a drop down menu. Much easier.
