1 It depends on how you are used to DJ. Some DJs must have a both monitor to be able to listen to their mix and some don’t use it. It can not only be used for monitor in the DJ booth it can be used as zone mixer to play other music in another room…..
2 The major difference between NS6 and DDJ-S1 is that NS6 has 4 channels and DDJ-T1 2.
There is other differences for instance the jogwheels on the NS6 is IMO better and from
what I’ve heard also the buildquality is better on NS6. If you are used to Pioneers layout the DDJ-S1 is familar
but IMO the layout is better on NS6. I have seen the NS6 IRL and I can asure you that it does not look like a toy.
Bear in mind that the 2 extra channels can be used for hooking up external units lika an iPod if the computer for some reason must be restarted or that if you play in a party someone needs to hook up a cd player or other.
I play only two channels but has used the other many times for different reasons on my X1700.
3 Yes
A tip: Go to a store and test both unitsf or yourself 🙂
