Maybe a hybrid solution would be to introduce subforums throughout the site to better help filter posts into the appropriate spot. This would act similiar to an unintentinal ‘search’ function. Personally speaking, I feel the forum headings are a bit broad, but do serve their purpose.
This way the newbs aren’t given the dunce hat…and the Pro’s won’t have to answer the same question over and over
wonder if it would be possible to make a page after you sign up that comes up with stickies to main topics asked…. with articles recommending controllers, mix techniques, software, etc etc…. then a big bold heading saying favorite this page…. 🙂
good idea Phil, im not saying it so that we can disregard beginners, I personally enjoy helping them and teach at a youth centre when I get the chance… I just feel on several sites there are questions asked 100’s of times over and over that a quick search would prevent and then the actual questions can be answered when they arise 🙂

Since this site is great help for beginners I think this would be fairly beneficial and give all the beginners a nice place to go to first before this gets spammed like djtechtools 🙂
The last comment on DJTT and spammers is somewhat amusing given the hugely DJ related CHEAP SOCCER/NBA jersey sale sites in your signature. You might want to have a look at that.
