The words SSL and Controller don’t mix (but I think Serato will open this up in the near future)
For the time being, Itch is the controllerist version of SSL, and has its limitations as well as benefits over SSL but should in no way be considered a LE of SSL or Serato DJ Intro equivalent.

Its going to be hard to find one controller that hits all your needs listed above…

Thanks… I’m well aware of the Itch’s capabilities… and they seem to be expanding to actually rival SSL… I’d be happy to have find a controller that also functions as an external mixer and can run ITCH, VDJ and Traktor. I figure if I can find one that can control the 4 deck versions of ITCH and VDJ… I can always tweak it or download a mapping to also work with Traktor.

In terms of versatility, try a pair of these:

Native time-code control (for SSL), MIDI-compliant controller for Traktor and VDJ, and it’s a CDJ with networked USB support. Damn thing’s a DD platter too.

Pair with a mixer of your choice, slap it all in a flight case and you’re good to go.

You will have to get an Itch controller then since you can then map it to VDJ and Traktor and not the other way around.
I have the NS6 and love it (stand alone line/phono 4 channel mixer) 4 deck control of itch (and I know there is a 4 deck mapping/skin for VDJ) You can then mix video in either Itch or VDJ. Traktor also has the equivalent hardware now from Numark ..the “4trak”.

Well, it isn’t exactly standard issue, but there is a hack to make a Denon MC6000 work with SSL, and it already has excellent mappings for Virtual and Traktor. You may want to look into that to see if you can make it fit all your needs.

And if space isn’t an issue, the 3900’s Chris mentioned are ridiculous. They make me drool every time I see a new video…

I think the VCI-400 should tick all the boxes soon if serato make an upgrade path from intro to itch, still you can’t use the jogs properly in traktor… what you will find is native instruments don’t support hardware used in itch, so you pretty much have to pick one of the two, vdj either does or can support anything so there is no problem there.
