Dj Emazing
ParticipantI think the American Audio VMS4. is Perfect
Mixtrack Pro 2 will get the job done
You should be able to afford the Numark N4, which is what I use which could be perfect.
Mixtack Pro itself will get the job done
And Reloop might have one that can get the job doneDon’t get me wrong equipment is critical for sound quality but the equipment doesn’t make the dj, so if you’re a good dj that can rock a crowd any of those above will be good for you.

KeymasterVMS 4.1 is good, the jogs are a bit small, Traktor mapping is decent.
Mixtrack Pro 2 I would rather use with Serato to be honest.
A bit high in your price range but the Reloop Jockey 3 Remix is a nice Traktor controller.June 9, 2013 at 7:10 pm #41132Darryl Lewis
ParticipantI have the Stanton DJC.4; like it so far, check it out! only works with VDJ though

ParticipantAny controller that sends midi can be used on any DJ software except Serato that needs a suported controller.
but if not natively supported you will need to find a mapp for it or do it your self.
I have the VMS4 not 4.1 and I loved it works grate for bouth VDJ, Traktor and also Cross DJJune 10, 2013 at 1:56 am #41147Darryl Lewis
Participantive tried this one with Traktor (DJC.4), didnt care for the mapping. And it also controls video, which Traktor doesnt do.
they did a really good job, working with Atomix to make the skin/mapping for this, whats on the screen is exactly whats on the controller.June 10, 2013 at 1:58 am #41148DJ Leoone
MemberThank you all for the suggestions so far. Right now i’m undecided between the Stanton DJC.4 that drlewistwo suggested and the American Audio VMS4.1. Would I be losing a lot without the 4 controllable sliders and knobs from the VMS4.1? Because the features from both look quite alike, and both can use VDJ and Traktor, from what i’ve found out.

ParticipantI dont use 4 decks alot; i have before, and it takes getting used to (‘deck select button’), but most of the time i just use 2. that said, im not trying to be a “club” dj, worked that scene for 13 years on Bourbon st. (emcee mostly),just a mobile/wedding/party guy. dont know if the 4 separte sliders would help in that case…good luck !

KeymasterThe DJC.4 is a very generic controller. However I dislike the small pitch faders.
Apart from the jogwheels which I do not like, I would rather prefer the VMS4.1If you like excellent jogwheels and large pitch faders the Reloop Terminal Mix could also fit your style and it has its own VDJ mappings that work really well with VDJ Pro (I would only use VDJ Pro for its excellent features) and even have their custom skins for VDJ.

+1 Chuck! I think Leoone would be better served if he added the Denon MC3000 and MC6000* on his list before making his final decision. They both fit your criteria of using VDJ and Traktor. I use the MC6000 and love it. I wanted to switch to Pioneer DDJ-SX (and Serato), but the MC6000 (and Traktor) have been solid for me so far.
*EDIT: MC6000 is over OP’s budget.

Just one problem. As long as i can read MC6000 is 300$ over his buget

ParticipantTrue, the MC6000 is over his budget. Made edit to reflect. Thanks.

MemberSo you think the Denon MC3000 has the upper hand in comparison to the VMS4.1 and DJC.4? It felt like it was lacking something from initial looks, but that must be just me. Also, forgot to add that I don’t plan on doing any scratching stunts, so having big high quality jogwheels aren’t a necessity.
Right now i’m very tempted with the DJC.4 since the VMS4.1 seems to be out of stock everywhere, which makes it difficult to obtain.
Also, a big thanks for standing my indecisiveness, it can be quite troublesome at times!

ModeratorCan’t speak for the DJC.4, but the MC3000 is definitely the better controller from a quality point of view compared to the ADJ. like it’s big brother the MC6000 it is buikt like tank and personally I like the Deon jogs.
