Glad I have so much music after 35 years of DJ-ing that I can run most requests straight of my external HD and don’t have to depend on what the DJ software offers by way of availability, unknown quality, etx. Not to mention not wanting my DJ PC/Laptop to have a live internet connection during a gig (regardless of the quality of the internet connection).

I wish all of my old rips were done in 320 and not 192. So much good music on my music HDD that just doesn’t cut it at DJing volumes, but my last couple years of rips and purchases are HQ at least, so my last gig was a 2/3 mine 1/3 CU show.

Until I rebuild my library, services like ContentUnlimited make the job affordable–at least if it worked correctly, anyway. Just trying to see if anyone else has the issue to attempt troubleshooting–the permanent yet expensive-up-front solution you mentioned, Vintage, is extremely obvious, but I still appreciate your input as its the only way to go long-term. $10/month is a lot cheaper getting started than buying all the songs I’ve cached on my external with this service and replacing all of my 192 kbps files 😉

Stating a personal opinion, I have no qualms about downloading tracks I own on CD/Vinyl. Although officially this is not allowed, I don’t see the difference between ripping yourself and downloading the track in lossless of high level MP3.

It’s much less time-consuming this way and often you can get a later CD-mastered rip of a track you originally had on vinyl.
