    Stop listening to people. There is no “best”. Personally, my favourite is Ableton, just because it fits well with what I do and the way I do things.

    My advice: Download trial versions of anything and everything you’re interested in. Spend a week or two with the Ableton trial, then a week or two with Cubase, then some with Reason and so on. Figure out what suits you and use that!

    Excellent Advice Benny 🙂
    I know ‘Some’ people (A Rapidly Diminishing Amount) who still use Cubase; as their DAW Of Choice;
    I also know a Number of people who use Reason (I have it myself – but have Stopped using it Due To Its Limitations); but Reason is a Radically Different DAW to Many Others; and is Often now used as a ‘Slave’ to another DAW which is set to be its ‘Master’; in Most Cases these days; this ‘Master’ being Ableton; or even FL Studio;
    I am a Producer; and have been for a Number Of Years; and having been through Every DAW there is on the Market; I have found myself Feeling Exceptionally Comfortable in the Ableton Environment; for Ease Of Use; the Ability to Construct my Own Instruments; the Virtually Endless Amount Of Effects that are Available (On Preset and User Customisation); and Obviously the Ease of VST Recognition (which Reason Does Not Have);
    But; as Benny suggested; have a look at the Trials (though these Trials can sometimes be Short); and have a Good Look at YouTube and see if there is Anything in these DAW’s (Production Wise); that Stands Out To You 🙂
