    Hi Danush,

    1) It is obviously made to match perfectly with Serato. As it’s a midi controller I am assuming it can be mapped to other platforms. You’d have to go look for those mappings on the forums/sites of Pioneer and/or the specific DJ Software you want to use.

2)S2 is a good controller. What goes for the Pioneer goes double for the S2 though, it’s made to work with Traktor.

    3) From what I hear the MixTrack is an excellent beginner controller and Numark makes decent quality kit. It’s not like the rock-solid build of Denon, for example, but it’s well made and durable.

    4) You’d have to more specific. Numark as a company can’t be compatible with anything. Specific Numark products can be. Again, if it’s made for a specific software, you’d have to ask yourself why you want to use it on another platform (unless you bought it and then decided to change software without having to get other hardware).

In general though, I am gonna repeat myself (from other postings) and tell you that looking at it from a hardware point of view is the wrong way to go.

    You need to know:

    1) What goal do I want to reach, 2) what workflow do I need to accomplish that goal, 3) what software fits that workflow best, 4) what controller has the best match for both the software I am gonna use and for the workflow I need and 5) what’s my budget. Then, and only then, do you start looking at what controllers you can look at an preferably test. It’s a highly personal choice, do you like the looks, the feel of the jogwheels and faders, the size of the controller, etx.

So, answer all those questions first. Use the articles on the blog and here on the various DJ software and Phil’s excellent Controller Buyers Guide 2014. When you are down to the last 2 or 3 controllers to pick from and you have any specific questions on them, then come back and ask those questions here for current or past owners to answer.

    Greetinx.

Hi, on your first question, are you sure you mean the DDJ-SX (and not the DDJ-SB) because the SX model is one of the most expensive controller on the market.
