My advice would be stick to Pioneer for CDJs. Nothing else comes close. You’ll only be disappointed if you buy Denon or any other brand. The 900’s will have a a higher quality and more rugged “club standard” build over the 850’s. I would personally save the extra cash and get the 900’s.
Have you looked at the CDJ 350 package? You Also get a flight case (Good for transporting all your gear and you said you wanted to be mobile) all for under your lower limit. There aren’t many features it doesn’t have in comparison to the 850’s/900’s, has USB/CD inputs as well as Rekordbox compatibility and all for a great price!
Damn, I’ve been served by Phil. Can’t argue with the man, he knows his toys. The entry level Pioneers aren’t bad but definitely don’t have that “pro” feel to them. I’m terrible…I always want the best.
I’m in the exact same position as you Joon! I’m really stuck between the SC3900’s and the CDJ900’s. I’ve been able to rent a pair of 900’s for a week, but i dislike how rough the jog is, and the pitch fader seems worse than 1000mk3s. Although HID midi support was just released for traktor (2.5.1). Im hoping to try the sc3900s somewhere. Ive seen soo many review videos…any advice??
After having a play I must say I’m very impressed with the quality of the Denon. They are agressively going after that market which will hopefully make Pioneer realise they need to slash some $$$ off their CDJ’s. I still question which one I would buy simply because Pioneer is still the industry standard?
The only reason I would buy the Pios over the Denons is because there the industry standard and I would want to practice on the same equipment in the clubs, I think this is the same for a lot of people. But if your taking your own equipment about id find it hard to resist the SC3900’s. Anyone know if the build is as reliable as Pioneer?
