I use a similar set-up as you, and you need the sound card to process the timecode media. I don’t think the mixer will allow you to control the CDJs as they are quite old.

In this case, you could just connect the 900 Nexus mixer (if it has USB? I’m not sure?) and play without the CDJs and use sync if you have to. Or maybe another DJ playing there will have a sound card you can borrow – or one of your friends perhaps ? Just curious, why did you buy Traktor Scratch Pro and not get a compatible sound card?

Also, why would a venue buy a Nexus mixer and use CDJ 1000s šŸ˜›

I just did a quick google search and this post says that the DJM900 DOES read timecode media, so you should be fine.

Yeah, you should be able to use the DJM900NXS as DVS-capable sound card with Traktor. I am pretty sure you will need timecode CDs to put in your CDJ1000s as I don’t think they have timecode option built-in.

DJM 900 Nexus do have the USB connection, you can plug your laptop straight to it, and the mixer acted as your soundcard, hence you still cant controlled the traktor itself

    Hey Rizki,

What are you saying? The sound card in the 900NXS CAN be used for DVS. Timecode CDs in the CDJs will give you (Traktor) DVS control over your tracks, just as if you would use an SL-1200.

    Might misunderstand your words though.

@Chuck I was referring to Ronnie Emjay :

In this case, you could just connect the 900 Nexus mixer (if it has USB? I’m not sure?)

DJM 900 Nexus do have the USB connection,

And implying that you dont need a seperate sound card box for it (Traktor Audio Pro) since 900NSX can acted as the soundcard itself
