LOL … interesting set of questions.

850s. Yep, midi-compatible and you can hook ‘m up to your line inputs on the XDJ-R1. So switching decks will be as simple as flipping the switch. Be aware that you have only two channels to mix simultaneously. It will be either the controller deck on that channel or the line input (850) on that channel, never both.

As far as I know (never used one, but read the reviews) the RMX-1000 ideally goes in a so-called FX send/return loop. The XDJ-R1 doesn’t have that. In which case you’d hook it up in the master signal. This means your FX always work on the output to your speakers, not per channel.

You mean like a musical keyboard? Search the forum, there have been a few threads on that very subject.

My man, you can buy a truck load full of gear and still be left wanting. On the other hand, you can have a controller, booth speaker, headphone and laptop and be king of the hill.

Not much more we can tell you without knowing a bit more about what you are trying to achieve. Bedroom DJ, Club DJ, Mobile DJ, producer for example.

Thanks Alot for the reply ๐Ÿ™‚

At first im going to Make Music att home, ย mixes but aswell tracks. But Also Play at home partyes, so ill need gear for that. But attend to do some club Dj’ing later when/ if the opertuniti comes, but id say when, since ill be trying and trying until i get it right. And i will offcourse use ย ”http://www.digitaldjtips.com/” Guides! they are GREAT!

i will mainly be doing Ambient trance, and trance like that. much with Vocals. Both male/Female, . but will aswell be going to Experiment with dubstep and Chillstep style.

If there is a Gear (All gear needed, even kontroller) setting you would recommend for these music styles and my purpose with it. I’D BE SOO GREATFUL and thank full! ๐Ÿ™‚
And i will be using iPad and iPhone and not laptop.

So if i get you right, the RMX-1000 would not rly be usefull for me? ๐Ÿ™‚

    Friendly Regards

because you are starting out there is no need to get CDJ 850 with the XDJ-R1 (it also has 2 cd players) your also going to be using iPad and iPhone so there is no need for the CDJ850, Remotebox on your iPad and you are set to go and can do amazing things. You also need some basic computer for Rekordbox preparations and synching music to iPad or USB stick.

If you are serious about making Music the iPad can get you some way but a computer can do so much more.

The RMX-1000 has a switch on the back for send/return or master, I haven’t tried it my self but to my understanding when set to master it is less aggressive on the signal. There is no problem using it from the master out from the XDJ-R1 just remember that if you are playing 2 songs it will apply fx to bout of them.

only other things for DJ’ing you would need to go with a XDJ-R1 + iPad are monitors(speakers) and headphones.

for you q about keyboard it really depends what software you are going to use it with.

Thanks alot for the reply ๐Ÿ™‚

hmm, will have to buy a new laptop then ๐Ÿ™‚ Headset, i’ve decided to get AKG K267, but not for full retail price offcourse.

I’m pretty sure i’ll go for Traktor, since it’s the best chooice for ios. Or is there another Software, that will be more usefull for the music genres i’ll be trying out ?

Thanks ALot for the help to decide correct gear ๐Ÿ™‚

Yep, good stuff from Gulli there.

Microphone is a bit of a personal choice. Personally I’d never get a Shure SM58, even if it is the worlds most used microphone. I don’t think they are all that great for DJ-ing. Condenser mics are not my first pick either. Relatively vulnerable and highly sensitive and they need some kind of power (Phantom or battery) to work.

So, a good neutral dynamic vocal mic if your mic channel has eq.

Take a friend, go to a music store and just try out a few. Let your friend decide which sounds best (there is really no way you can judge your own voice honestly lol).

200% agree on the Shure thing… hate that mic.
