ModeratorHi Jeroen,
Haven’t seen the inside of an SZ yet, but I am guessing that a high end controller should have solid knobs (like the others you show in your vid). So I am guessing that they were either not tightened correctly or there is something else at fault. It must be within warranty, so I’d call Pioneer customer service and get them to come fix your unit.
Just my two cents.

KeymasterThis is definitely not normal. You should check back with the shop you bought it from and have it fixed under warranty.

ParticipantThe problem here is that I can’t go back to the reseller cause they say it is normal.
They make that statement based on 1 returned controller and pioneer has a 3rd party repair center and they say it is normal.
Also say that it is the first time a ddj-sz is returned for that. It’s weird that they can say that it is normal while other with the controller say they don’t have that problem.
I’m trying to get as much proof that this is not normal as I can.
And you could help me with sharing this video below on facebook.
I would REALLY appreciate it.August 11, 2014 at 10:37 am #2048336Jeroen Kolkman

ParticipantJeroen – When you use the “link” thing, make sure you put something between the tags, like so:

ParticipantDANGIT! I used encoded chars, but it still interpreted them. Trying again:
[a href=”http://www.test.com” target=”_blank”]test.com[/a]
I replaced the greater-than/less-than with brackets, but that should HOPEFULLY give you the idea of what you’re doing wrong.

ParticipantThx for the tutorial XD
I was wondering how to do that haha.

ModeratorI’d skip both the reseller and the third-party repair center and go straight to Pioneer DJ. Tell you are not accepting poor workmanship like that and you want another unit. If they claim all units are like that, then tell them you want your money back. It is, like you said, not exactly an 80 euro Hercules controller (no offense, Deathy).
Again, don’t bother with resellers (especially online ones, although I have had some good repair experiences with Bax Shop here in The Netherlands), but go straight to the manufacturer.
Not sure who the third-party repair center is, but (unless it’s them) you could go to DJ Repair (http://www.djrepair.nl/) and get a second opinion. From your name I am guessing you are from The Netherlands or Belgium and I know they service both countries. If you send them the video they can probably already say if it is or isn’t normal.

Participantvintage thx for the comment.
I am indeed from the netherlands and wished i had bought the controller from bax-shop.the 3rd party repair center is “Kebe repair service”.
That apperantly is THE pioneer repair service and I am planning on calling pioneer themselfs again about it but the person I had email contact with stands behind the first repair of aa ddj-sz conclusion that it is normal.I’m allready taking legal actions agains the webshop I bought it from cause as you said I want my money back.
btw. the webshop name was “weblectronics”
never buying anything from them again, thats for sure.

ParticipantI send someone an email yesterday that had a contact at pioneer.
He send my vid to them and the contact says that the ddj-sz should absolutely not be like this out of the box.
So for once I have some indication that I’m not going crazy about this.Today I’m gonna call pioneer and ask them to watch the vid en tell me if it’s normal cause then I have definite proof.
I’ll keep you all posted here

KeymasterI hope they sort that out, that is really bad after watching it a second time. I did never see such bad knob movement even on a lowend controller like a Mixtrack or Beatpad.

ParticipantPost the link on twitter Jeroen, and copy pioneer into it?

Participanti send an email to pioneer again with the vid.
I got an response back saying it seems someone else also brought this issue to their attention.
They have send my video to the pioneer europe HQ and they are gonna inspect why this is happening.Let’s see what that brings me….
