You can also prolly time the music a bit. If it starts early you have to play music that older people do not get intimidated by and is more relaxing/chill and you can raise the energy level and the music towards party music when the older (and youngest) are in bed.

You should try asking people who live on the block what they want to hear.
Seeing that it’s Philly you should get Philly based music such as “Boys II Men- Motown Philly” or “Bell Biv Devoe- Poison (remix)”.
I had a party for a bunch of people who came from philly, don’t know why they where in New York but anyway I play a bunch off philly tunes but what made the place go crazy was when I played “Will Smith- Fresh Prince of Bel Air Theme Song” Everyone even the New Yorkers went crazy, I had everyone singing that song, though you have to chose the right time to play it save it as your trump card… Which reminds me I should start a forum on Djs Trump Cards for music.

Yeah I totally agree with ya about prices. The most horrible thing is that you cant even do DIY because resources are even more expensive than product itself….EU dumbness

Question, Milos. Do you know if Philly into Go Go Music like DC, MD, and VA? What about Line/Ballroom Dances? I know Detroit and Chicago are really into it, but I’m not sure about Philly, NY, etc.

I’m originally from ATL and I’m not really familiar with DC Go Go Music unless you asked me a little about Chuck Brown and DJ Kool…LOL. When Baltimore native, Frank Ski (formerly of V103 ATL), threw Northern Exposure parties several years ago I would get those quick fixes of Chicago House, DC Go Go, and Hip Hop music. Other than Northern Exposure and college parties where people from the Midwest, North and South partied I wasn’t too hip to the Go Go scene.

Oh, as far as line dances I was referring to the steppers line dancing that’s pretty big in Detroit and other places around the country. If you go to Youtube and look up M&M Pump Line Dance, Jamie Foxx I Don’t Need It Line Dance, etc. those are the dances I am referring to.
