Depends on your workflow, but when it comes to more traditional genres (and yeah I consider hiphop and R&B nowadays more traditional) I like Logic more than Ableton.
I prefer Ableton for house/trance and more electronic stuff, but for music which involves a more traditional setup and voices/instruments, Logic really shines.
Also the integration of Guitar Rig (for software amplifier simulation) and usage of beatboxes (MPC or Maschine) as plugins in Logic is really easy and I have used that to great success. (I have a Line6 HD-500 for my guitar and use a Maschine Mk I for fingerdrumming).

I cannot comment on FL Studio as I only use Ableton and Logic as my main production programs.

I’d mainly tell you to try demos and find the one where your workflow fits in.

I tried Ableton Live for house and breaks…became a misery for me because it’s such a beast. When I used Sony Acid, I found myself more easily putting things together, so I stayed with it.

I’ve been using Propellerhead Reason for several years and I’ve produced all kinds of music with it. Since version 6 it has had audio recording and now also has rack extensions. It has everything built in that you would need to produce songs in any genre
