please be more specific? What exactly do you mean by mixing out?…like ending a mix?
or like mixing a new song into the next song?

Ahh 🙂 ok well its about mixing a song into another song … thing is, that i got the feeling that i allways need to long time
till i make the transition between those 2 songs .Because of that long transition it gets kinda messy the lead/acapella from the new song starts and i still got the old song playing.
I think i dont got the nerv to just cut down fast the track that is supposed to end .
So i was interested if there is a special technique that i can apply in my mixing to do that succesfuly.
If i wsnt clear enough , tell me ill rephrase it … soz about my bad English 😛

    TY

There are lots of ways to do this, but it’s specific to what genre of music you are mixing. Hip hop or top40 usually it’s just a quick cut on the end 32 beat of the first song and on the 1 of the 2nd song. Another thing u can do is use loops, create a 16-32 beat loop before the vocals of your 2nd track to mix in, then turn the loop off just as the vocals of the first song ends and sw in the vocals of the 2nd track.

There’s lots of crafty things u can do with effects, using an echo fade of the 1st song as u bring in the 2nd song works rather well in this situation, or a filter sweep. I don’t advise using effects for transitions until u have properly done transitions using mixing techniques though

As a rule I usually say its best to mix the two songs as long as you can before cutting. Obviously for some genres this isn’t possible for long before you gotta cut or use one of the above techniques. For Tech & deep house I often let the track completely play out.

i see ! Gonna try his aswell 🙂
Thing is that i dont have any rule when the cutdown shall happen and i duno if i shall cut it down fast or slow 🙁
Imo bothh ways sound good when they happen at the right moment .
And this moment accidentaly slips some timmes more than 50% of the tracks ill mix . 🙁

There’s more than one way to mix tunes so there isn’t really a right or wrong way unless it sounds bad
