It is an online photoshop, no downloads, no installs, and as it doesnt have all of the photoshop features, it is much simpler to use 🙂
Hope it was of help.Oh, and 100% free. And if you create an account (also free) you get like an online folder where you can save your works. You can also save them on your pc.

ParticipantI’m using GIMP. It’s free, there’s tutorials online, and it does almost as much as photoshop.

MemberEpic: I would focus on text (ie., fonts) rather than try a put a bunch of cool images… First simply write out the text in a simple font like HELVETICA, play with colors a little on that, etc.. and then add one image (preferably a vector image, ie., a silhouette rather than a filled image)… The simpler the better AND people will remember the information on there more easily than it if were very crowded with stuff..
Attached, an example of a previous mix artwork I did (when I still unfortunately called myself bedroom deejay). It’s a little on the simple side, agreed (and could be improved) but it gives you an idea of what I mean (created with AI).. loooove AI… wish i could afford it

+1 for Gimp! I use Gimp and online tutorials to do all of my work. Attached is a flyer I designed for my upcoming show next week. Its not the best compared to flyers I’ve seen but it works for me.

Participantwhat I do is google flyers online and take the best parts that I like and try to figure out how they did it and then implement into my designs.

InactiveI’m no graphics artist but I use KeyNote (MacOSX) app for all kinds of artwork. Fast and I get good enough results.

MemberThat’ll work fine – well done.
FYI I work in the advertising and design industry and I use the Apple program Pages for all of my basic designs like this. It’s really powerful and simple to use. It’s a hybrid word processor and graphics program. Illustrator and photoshop
are overkill for what you want to do. It also comes with a bunch of templates that you can modify to create your own.November 4, 2012 at 9:02 pm #31347EpicDJ

ParticipantEpicDJ, don’t be afraid to go DIY. A lot of what I do now came from wanting to not have to pay someone for things in the past.
I remember when I put a hot mix cassette into local stores back in 1994. I paid $600 for 100 cassettes and felt like I overpaid. From there I tried to design my own labels and inserts. I looked for solutions so I could make the cassettes at home on my own using some decent-quality cassette decks and a DAT. I later used a local Kinko’s to print and then manually cut the inserts. I found web sites selling simple plastic bags I could put around the cassettes so I would not have to pay for shrink wrapping.
Granted I didn’t sell cassettes for too long (nor did I ever make any money), but I kept using these new skills to make nice graphics for CDs, flyers, etc. Later this spawned into web design/development and now it’s my normal career.
You did well on your first attempt. Look into free services like pixlr and even freeware like GIMP if you do not want to shell out for Photoshop. Design print pieces in CMYK and web-based stuff in RGB.
Everything on that layout is clean, clear, and legible. Photo is great. Too many amateurs go nuts on text filters and such and thus they end up with a mess. Keep it up.

ParticipantLOL @ half price hookahs 🙂
guess you pulled it off nicely, hope you exported it into a CMYK format which can be used for commercial print or else the coulours will be different from expectation.I currently use Inkscape for my designs as it’s more similar to Illustrator which I was used to work with.
Should give Gimp a try as well, both are freeware so worth a try. -
