Usually a mixtape is for promotion, so the thing is to show off your skills.
Not using the gear you would DJ with, is actually cheating. (Now I know many people do this)
Also while Ableton will allow you to perfectly beatmatch everything, unless you are an Ableton pro, the whole thing will be pretty boring.
So either setup and take your time to do it with your main gear or leave it. I am not a friend of fakes for the sake of promotion.

Yep , totally agree with you on that.
I was more thinking of having a bit of fun with it, when I’m unable to set up at home.
I say I use to use it for mixtapes I’ve never used them for promotion more for myself to listen too or doing mixes that you can play as background music when your doing a wedding or something like that .
I don’t think it’s to bad to use as long as it’s all stuff that you could do in a live situation.
For promotional I would more likely do it live , all the mixes I have put online are normally recorded live from a gig I was doing . (Mixcloud.com/trigga)
I was more just wondering if there was any better software out there as I’ve not used it in years , & fancied a play lol .

Well for that purpose I can recommend either Ableton Live or Bitwig Studio.
