There are mixers that have built-in sound-cards. Some of those are DVS-enabled. When you say Traktor you are pretty much limited to NI gear though and there is, as far as I know, no DVS-enabled USB sound-card included mixer in their product range.

Also, the price of these mixers will be such that you do pay for the sound-card, it will just be in the same box (limiting your options for playing out as you can’t just take the sound card). And they will definitely not be “budget” I think.

Another thing that worries me is when people use DVS and budget in one sentence. Monthly cost of vinyl/DVS upkeep can easily run as high as 100 bucks a month. So if you are looking to DJ on a budget, stay away from vinyl/DVS.

As Neto mentioned there is one in the Native Instruments range: TRAKTOR KONTROL Z2 features all the power and connectivity needed for even the biggest clubs. The integrated audio interface delivers 24-bits of high-output audio.
Also there is the Pioneer DJM-T1 2 Channel Traktor Mixer. It has 2 stand-alone channels & 2 full remix channels
TRAKTOR 2 Series Control New High Performance Fader Design Internal USB Soundcard High quality sound Includes timecode vinyl & CDs for DVS system. Compared to other Pioneer mixers this is budget. Hey Neto I suggest you look for a second hand Z2 or DJM-T1, you should pay around $400 for a working one with a bit of wear and tear.

I had forgotten about the T1. From the days when Traktor tried to work with loads of brands 😀

In either case, 400 bucks for a (well-)used unit, imho, does not constitute “budget”. But I guess that is a personal decision.

Hi DJ Vintage, just an opinion I have built over the past year about you and certainly no disrespect for your knowledge and helpful advice but you are pretty harsh on anyone else having a say on this forum. I guess I was referring to $400 being “budget” compared to most other Pioneer mixers available $1500+. The DJM-T1 has a quality sound card inside, useful effects, good faders and XLR output. I would conclude that due to the fact it is made specifically for Traktor software and that the Native Instruments Z2 is arguably better ergonomically with Traktor this mixer is overlooked and as such is available at a “bargain price on the second hand market, the fact remains that a second hand $400 Pioneer mixer with DVS equipped sound card and balanced XLR outputs is about as cheap as you will get to do the job. Any other forum members back me up on this advice to Neto? Phil?

I am sorry if I come across harsh. Definitely not my intention, so apologies there.

Although reading back I don’t see where I was being so harsh. I admitted to having forgotten the T1 and just said that I (personal opinion) just don’t think that “budget” and 400 bucks for a used unit go well together. Clearly compared to new Pioneer gear it is budget, but then so is most new comparable equipment from other reputable brands LOL.

Will take your opinion/comment to heart though and double-check my replies with it in mind.

For clarity, a working DJM-T1 for 400 bucks used is pretty good value-for-money.

If you are on a dime, vinyl is always gonna be the most expensive route into DJ-ing, so the whole discussion is really mute. If you can spend upwards of 50-100 bucks a month on vinly/DVS upkeep, you should have no problem getting that T1 for 400 bucks.

I guess it all depends on what a person wants vinyl for and whether vinyl or DJ-ing is the more important criterium. Digital DJ-ing can be done for as little as 200 bucks (including the software) for a used S2 and no monthly costs other than your music. The DVS route is gonna cost you the equivalent of a good controller in just a year solely for maintenance.

Well I have been using the AKAI-AMX with Serato DJ (vinyl upgrade needed) and 2 reloop RP-7000s. I think you cannot get much cheaper than that. The AMX costs I think 200 bucks.
Yes it is very small and very limited (I use a reloop Neon as addon for pads, but you can also use the Akai AFX).

I think this is currently the cheapest way to DVS, but it is Serato and not Traktor.
The quality of the Soundcard however is excellent and up to par with higher end offerings.
The small price tag comes as it is a small unit, 2 channels and the top is plastic (however I have no issues with that).

I would grab a used Traktor z2 or the Pioneer T1….both awesome mixers and wayyy cheaper than comparable Serato dvs enables mixers which are double the price of traktors offerings

And the DJM-450? It’s about 700 but with software and most of the NSX2 features/filters..

Wow you did get some features wrong there, the 450 is bad in so many ways… check the real features.
