I have been doing a little research and have found a few deals for the Behringer 215d. They seem like a user friendly and good sounding system and I was wondering if anyone else has used them before? Any recommendations are appreciated but I am mostly looking for feedback towards the 215d! Thank you

I make it a point to never by Behringer anything. They are low end systems…usable but low end.

For Monitors i to this day still think the Mackie SRM450s are the goto monitors value, quality and price point.

Dude look at my profile pic. I will stand by there eurolive products for ever. The name use to be of poor quality for many of years but the revamp the product line and I swear by these speakers. The b215d is the best bang for your buck and Ive had them for over a year with 0 problems and sound as good as any 600-700 speaker. Dude I use one I repeat one of these 215 and the 1800prod sub and it bangs out enough sound to shake the small bar I play at weekly 150/200 capacity. Dont just take my word. go to guitarcenter.com and you will find 42 out of 43 reviews of 5 stars.

Best Bang for your buck…i agree with…not denying that.

But they do not compare to something like the SRM450v2s. ( Mackie Subs suck balls on the other hand)

I have a hard time believing that 1-550 watt loud speaker and 1-1800 production sub will bang out a 200 person venue…a really hard time believing that.

Having used everything from Studio monitors to 40k PK Sound systems…I like to think i know a few things regarding Speaker setups…and what you say just doesnt really ring true for me.

Even if you are able to shake the house with 1 550 watt loud speaker and 1 1800 production sub…the lifespan of those 2 speakers is going to be VERY short.

The Value of a great speaker isnt just the sound quality and affordability, its also how long will they last you?

I Have a good freind who’s a DJ and a member of Phi Kappa Alpha, we do parties at his frat house every weekend with 2 Berh Eurolive 12″ 600w actives, and 1 Harbinger 400w rms 18″ sub. PLENTY of work for the 200 people who show up nightly. Plenty..the Ber’s put out plenty enough power that we have to keep it all turned down, and they don’t sound harsh or cause ear fatigue after 4 hours of partying. I don’t know how the 215d relates to a 12″ Eurolive, but my freind’s Berhingers have been doing the job faithfully and with good sound for 2 years running.

That being said, I respect Hee’s expertise on PA. I’d agree that 1 main and 1 sub for 200 seems seems…a stretch.

The system you have is a great house party small party system…but imo a house party and a club are 2 very different things.

A house party of 200 is very different than a club of 200.

A house party space has 200 people all around the house…and not concentrated in 1 area.

As well acoustics are totally different, a lot of clubs do not have 9′ ceilings and have a space of 11ft-18ft ceilings….this extra 2-8 feet can really make the sound dissipate. As well most houses are constructed with GWB and Insulation, the insulation and walls help deflect the sound and will make the sound “bounce” back and will create additional sound that is not true from the speakers.

Typically any house party the largest room is 20×20 lets say…with a ceiling of 9′ You now have a volume(measurement) area of space to fill. The closer the walls you have to the sound the more the sound will well sound lol.

Its like having a party out doors for people…there is nothing for the sound to bounce from so u need 2 to 3x amount of speakers to fill a space of roughly the same amount of people in doors.

I rented the Behringer 15″ powered speakers locally for a gig and they served me just fine. I now have the 15′ Mackie Thumps which I love. I gott them for about $250/EACH which was what the Behringer 15″ Euros were gonna cost me just about. You can find some good deals on Ebay if you look hard enough. I got two 15″ powered speakers and 2 stands (metal not aluminum. They are by Seismic Audio) for under $600. They serve me just great for House parties and Bar gigs.

I’m deff gonna have to rethink lmao.. I wish i could play with each brand and product to assess them myself but a lot of my browsing is online and every site is going to praise their own product. I might just have to go with one, and if It’s a flop then I’ll have that much more knowledge to help me in the future.

my man here was talking about his 1st dj set up. you cant go wrong with the price point. Ive had problems with the makies the 1st 2 weeks i bought them. Had the berhs for over a year. Nobody talking top shelf here ya know what I mean. Shit if I had the loot id buy all qsc but I don’t. my 2 cents dont sleep on the berhs because they are good speakers. and if they blow, i always buy the extended 3 yr no worry warranty from my #1 sound retailer. No WORRIES man. : )

the srm450 are the work horse of the mobile dj set up for years. I agree with that. as far as the 200 person venue thing, i guess you just had to be there. wasnt like a 200 ppl in a huge club setting but what mobile dj takes their own speakers to a venue that size? the place was a legal capacity sixe of 250 patrons. it was a larger bar type place. and im not saying that it was all over blaring in the face. but it held up the entire 6 hr gig and i was even told to turn it down a notch with no clipping. go out and test those speakers. I get it, cheap is not always good, but my good i was blown away by these babies. way better than jbl eons or any same catorgory speaker imho

We actually bring in our Mobile Setup to our monthly residency at this small underground venue with a capacity of 140 people every month.

The current setup they have are 4 Pk monitors and 4 18″ bassbins already exist there. We bring in an additional 2 monitors and 2 yamaha subs…and we actually promote the night as such. “Bass In YO FACE!” “Shake the house” etc.

And it goes over really well…our nights are arguably the best nights in this venue…and everyone that works there loves having us do our nights cuz they know they are going to be making good money. This is a true underground club though…and you will see real ravers come here…not the Punters that come to listen to top40 remixes…Im talking full on Kandi kids…furry leg ravers, and crazy hair, and yes a lot of people just wacked out of their mind on drugs.

Its actually one of my favorite nights to play because i can just bang out big heavy ass tracks and people go off the wall…As well i can let songs go into some great breakdowns and i dont get a bunch of punters just standing there going uhhh am i suppose to be doing something right now?
