    Dude, you haven’t DJed before, so when you start you stay months at least as a Bedroom DJ. You won’t need a macbook or an iPad. I’m starting, my laptop weighs a TON, but it doesn’t matter because you won’t need to carry it around, and don’t DJ with an iPad because your software will be amazingly reduced. If I were you here is what I would do:
    1- Keep your Galaxy Tab 😀
    2- Make a budget
    3- When you have made a budget, post it here and I will immediately respond with what gear you should buy.
    4- Don’t get a Macbook or an iPad.
    5- Play as a Bedroom DJ with your enormous computer.
    6- When you have got some talent and landed a gig, maybe consider buying a macbook.
    7- If you can’t afford it, go for the “DJ COMPANY” business.
    That means, partner up with some other DJ for gigs, make a company, share your gear, etc. Make sure you trust this man, and since you said you have a pal DJ with a macbook pro, you are all set and done. GOOD LUCK MATE

    There is no real ipad software/controller combo that is professional grade yet.

    The closest thing would be the DJAY by algoriddim app with the Numark IDJ LIVE controller, but you will be very limited. Your money could be better spent on a better controller and to maybe upgrade RAM or something in your current laptop.

    My laptop is rly good actually ( 16 GB RAM, SSD..) dont worry about that. It’s just a bit heavy.

    – DJspin, thanks for the time you passed to answer. So your advices are that i don’t even have to buy a controller the first months ? ( i have already download traktor 2 and tested it but it’s a bit weird and hard without controller i found. ). In order to start i think that 150-200 euros is a good budget. Your “DJ COMPANY” thing seems to be interesting. btw i have one friend with mixtrack pro and the other with a reloop who cost 400e approximatively. I prefer dj’ing instead of producing for the moment.

    Can’t go wrong with a mixtrack/mixtrack pro. Since a lot of people look to this as an intro into djing you can sell it for not too much of a loss and put it toward you next upgrade.

    Mmh kay’ 🙂 what’s the difference between these ? And i got a last questions. A good friend of mine told me that the fake decks on all-in-one controller were useless. Is it true ?

    No, you will need a controller but what I meant is first learn the software, fool around a little and then buy it. You won’t need a macbook since you won’t be doing gigs anytime soon. 200 euros max? Ok then. Use your heavy workhorse computer, buy a Numark Mixtrack Pro and Numark RedWave headphones, use the Traktor LE Software the controller comes with, after a while you will have to upgrade. Do you have ANY speakers? Any crappy monitor speakers for beginning will do fine. Trust me, the DJ duo company thing works great for me at least, and if you have friends, even better ask them to pair up with you, to help you out, share tips, gear and what not. THIS IS MY OPINION. If you don’t like the Mixtrack Pro or can’t afford it. Go for these: Behringer BCD3000, old but works fine. Hercules MK4, cheap TINY beginner controller but will do the job. Hercules RMX, a workhorse that will last you forever, will get the job done also. Torq Xponent, cheaper and even better than the mixtrack in my opinion, check it out. OR wait for the new behringer controllers to come out.

    Well.. Dunno. Is it worth it to wait the last behringer all-in-one ? The design rocks tho ! When you say learn the software you mean that i should read the manual ? I’ll ask my friend for tips and to do dual sessions some afternoons 🙂 for the headphones i will take the marshall one i think.

    Check them out, Behringer’s new controllers look promising but NO ONE has had an actual go with these controllers. I would recommend getting the behringer BCD3000 for you to save a buck, use your keyboard an map it to do the other functions, get some headphones worth buying, Numark RedWave seem nice and cheap. No, when I mean learn the software I mean mix with your mouse and keyboard and see if you like the software, if not check out VirtualDJ which is good for beginners. Exactly, pair up with your pals, TRUST ME, its the best, that is what I do.

    Phil got hands on with these and set the pitch faders were super nice.

    Yes, Vinny is right, many people have got their hands on it and said they were really nice, long pitch faders like proffesional gear, people doubted the jogwheels saying they would suck, well UniqueSquared’s DJMadFlip got his hands on the jogwheels and he said he loved them, they felt nice and were accurate with the software, it seems like the best controller in a budget, it has 8 hot cues and many more great features, and its coming out in $200 I believe, that is insanely cheap.
