    Also should I purchase balanced or unbalanced audio?

    RCA = unbalanced
    TRS = balanced

    Brand does not really matter when they are well made.

    The MTP2 has RCA outputs. So you’ll need RCA cables. One (stereo) cable and a backup if you go out to play should be enough. Don’t go from the RCA of your controller into TRS on speakers or amp. You’ll need a little extra box if you want to make that work properly or a small PA mixer. See some of the recent other posts on the subject.
