    Since laptops typically don’t have RCA connectors, I am wondering what kind of cable you are using now, which cables you used before and if you are not using a controller with sound card or a separate (USB) sound card?

    i use a 3.5mm jack to rca stereo cables and that time i hadn’t plugged my headphones so the sound went directly from my laptop

    To get things straight … you have a DJ splitter cable going from your laptop. In one end you have a 3.5mm to RCA stereo cable going to your speakers and in the other end you plug in your headphones, right?

    What was the old cable? Also 3.5mm to RCA’s ?

    yup. i checked to see if i had connected the cables in the wrong terminals of the splitter cable but it was connected properly.
