Here’s the gist of what you should know about both,if you plan to use FL for live performance you’ll need to either route it into your main unit from a secondary one or look into VSTs or some other possible way of simulating the shunt from a secondary to main.If you plan of using FL just for production you’re set. Abelton has the advantage of being set for both live performance as well as producing but it can be harder to master then FL as far as production goes.

Indeed. But while it is true that Ableton has a higher learning curve and you prolly will need several months to get into it, the number of resources for Ableton is huge.
For example V 9 of Ableton is relatively young, but there are already tons of video tutorials on youtube.
